Good variety of play.. and a sound snag.

I was wondering who would eventually make a game comprised of entirely Apple/Mac Gel effects, and here it is.

This game switches it up a bit with some hommage-to-pong, offering horizontal levels, and also going as far as putting you in control of two pallets at a time, sometimes opposing each other, and sometimes in oldschool team tennis mode.

The music worked, but the sound didn't. While I suspect that this must stem from the fact that the game has not fully understood that I've disabled my on-board sound in favor of my soundblaster, these are basic programming cleanups that still need to be accounted for. Therefore, no sound for me, and one star for you. The music if very oxygen based with two tracks that alternate throughout.

In this game, there's no ball speed pickups. Putting a top-spin on your ball will send it hurling, which can be scary when you're playing a level where your bats are opposing.

Ball 7 is very simplistic in terms of graphic arts, and perhaps a bit too simple. The color pallet choices are way too primary, as the first few levels are highly contrasting reds, yellows and blues. While the backgrounds may slip your attention, they make for some nice Macro photography and I'm quite sure I'll be using one of those .TGA files as my desktop. Actually, let me do that right now.
