The Real Magic Word is "Clone"

If JK Rowling married the creator of the Bookworm series of games, and then lost all her creativity, this game would be born.

It's such a blatant clone of Bookworm, I don't even know where to begin. You have to play a game of "connect the dots with letters", all to build up enough mana to get spells, and eventually graduate from magic school.

I'll give it credit; it certainly looks better than the Bookworm series does, and the music was really nice to listen to. Unfortunately, that was where the originality ended. There are far better word games out there, with more variety in gameplay than you'll find here. Really, it's all the same thing over and over again.

I suppose if you like your word games mixed with a child's view of the occult, than this might satisfy your craving.
If you're looking for a good game though, this certainly won't.

Review of Academy of Magic: Word Spells

Graphics: Graphics are nice, but I have seen better.
Sound: Sound effects suits this style of game and music is nice to listen.
Gameplay: Once I had launched the game I thought: "Oh, it's going to be a great game." As I had played it a little bit longer, I found it booring. All you have to do is make a combination of letters to form a word. You gain experience points after building a word. When you have collected enough experience points, you aquire a few spells which helps you build more and more words. Nothing special.
Overal: To sum the results, the game is not woth buying. You will find that the amount of time the trial version has is fairly enough to get you bored of playing. I would recommend you buy Academy of Magic: Word Spells only if you are a fan of games like this.
