This is NOT another Diner Dash
Well maybe...but on steroids.
Diner Dash is a FABULOUS game. It is challenging, but not overly so. Its fun and captivating.
Fever Frenzy is the same...but better.
The story is simple enough. You play a doctor, and you have to cure patients. How easy is that? You take the patient from the waiting room all the way to wellness nirvana with color bonus's and drink happiness.
The animation is clear, clean and cute. The developer had a good time making all the facial expressions and having the "disease" match the name. Mad Cow disease faces and scarecrow hay fever illustrations are extremely creative, as are the sound effects..too funny.
The game play is awesome and extremely challenging. In Diner Dash, you can complete each table with 5 or 6 clicks depending on what level you're on (seat, take order, bring food, take check, clean table). Fever Frenzy has at least double. Seriously. Well lets see...
1. Admit
2. Assign bed
3. Diagnose
4. Take prescription to pharmacy
5. Pick up prescription
6. Administer prescription
7. Discharge
8. Replace bed linens
9. Put linens in hamper
Ok... so maybe 9 steps. But that is also assuming the patient doesn't have 2 or more "outbreaks". Those that do require you to repeat steps 3, 4, and 5 again. Oh and did I mention when a "virus" invades the hospital you have to spray it? Add at least 3 more clicks...mulitply by 6 patients and thats a lot of clicks. Did I mention you are on a time limit? And thats as far as I've gotten so far. I'm anxious, yet terrified of whats coming next.
There are bonus to earn and upgrades to buy (move faster, diagnose faster, etc) but so far they are too expensive for me anyway. I completed the first couple of levels with ease, but find myself struggling with the 6 bed scenario. I have a good time playing the Diner Dash Trilogy and had little hope that this would be nothing more than the same game, different background.
I was totally wrong.
And for that I am glad. |

Fun...and difficult
I love playing spider solitare on my computer and thought "OOOHH great, a prettier version".
It delivered on all levels.
The instructions are clear and concise.
The graphics are beautiful.
The sound is more that adequate.
Luckily there are several levels of play ranging from easy to hard. What's really lovely is not only does the level tell you the difficulty, it also tells you game length and chances of winning the hand. That is a fantastic feature if you have limited time, or don't really feel like playing for a long time. There is also an option to clear the high scores which is a nice feature if you are tired of seeing a certain someone's name in the coveted #1 spot.
The more difficult levels are just that...difficult. For me, the higher levels are unattainable goals for now. Trust me, I'll get there, it's just going to take some time.
If you like to play spider solitare already, then this game is a must. If you are new to the game, try the demo first to see if you like it. The gameplay is exactly the same as what you get with your windows program, but the graphics and sound are much better (the windows version doesn't have any sound). |

This Game is FANTASTIC
I thought the match 3 game was played out..
Too many...not challenging enough...
I mean really.. Bejeweled is perfection, what else could there possibly be?
There is Emerald Tale.
Simply put, the graphics are beautiful. Yes I said beautiful, stunning, glorious and brilliant. Every one of those would work. The detail is wonderful, the colors are vibrant and realistic.
The sound is fabulous. Its not cut in, or overlaid, too loud or too soft. The sound of crystal shattering is perfectly maintained and with what seems to be high definition clarity.
The gameplay is what I like to call simply complex. The concept is easily understood, and appealing to whatever age you happen to be. The game is consistent with its difficulty while not becoming frustratingly hard. Logic, reasoning and a tad bit of luck will help as you tackle each board. Once you start, you will find it very hard to stop.
Overall the game is perfect. The story line is cute and child-like, but not geared only to children. The look of the game is great, the play of the game is addicting.
Perfection. |

Boring and Unimaginative
This game is horrible.
The graphics are low-rate, almost what one would expect with a beginner and photoshop.
The gameplay is not challenging, creative, or fun. The game "sparkles" the letter to be found automatically and so the player doesn't even get the chance to search for the letter needed.
To be honest I don't know how the sound was because I was listening to the ballgame on TV. If it is like the graphics, it is definatley sub-par to even the most casual of gamer.
I would not recommend this game at all to ANY player on ANY LEVEL. Even children learning to spell would do much better with literally ANY OTHER spelling/word game.
Please do not waste your time on the demo and definately do not waste your money on the full version. |

Extremely disappointing
I like puzzle games, always have. The kind of thing that makes you think as opposed to mindless clicking is just up my alley. Is that the kind of game you enjoy as well?
If so, you can forget this one.
Tetris is a game you have to think about. Luxor, Zuma and Tumble Bugs are games you have to think about. Sure its not rocket science, but anytime you are being timed it is a huge stress factor and even the quickest minds on the planet go into "panic" mode.
This game is very simple. It is nothing more than matching game. There is no time limit. There is no thoughts of "wow I have to hurry". You can take your time, plan out your moves and bingo..board cleared.
The story line was there simply as a way to move from one level to another. It really was unnecessary. The animation is cute albeit circa 1980 but hey, anything creative is an accomplishment. Graphically speaking it was mediocre, not fabulous but at the same time not retched either.
Sound was ok, even though at times it got a little annoying. Seriously I found it much better when I just loaded a CD and had that going in the background.
Gameplay is simplistic. I totally finished the game in the allotted hour demo. I like to think Im smarter than average but I am by no means Einstein. To totally finish the "story mode" in one hour is ridiculous. It may be harder for some and those are the people who may want to buy this. For me, too easy.
Overall, I would have to say no.
No to the gameplay, stick with thinking puzzles.
No to the sound, load your own.
No to the graphics, not that bad but not that good. |
