Great game!
Birdies, Chocolatier and now Burger Island ... is there no end to the number of great games Reflexive has recently added to its collection? Granted, this is just my opinion; I know there will be those out there who will disagree with me on my choice of "great games".
Well, to each their own, right? =D
Burger Island has similar concepts to games like Diner Dash and Burger Rush. As in Burger Rush, you need to hurry to make the customer orders, which can range from milkshakes to fries to burgers of many varieties. And as in Diner Dash, you're working against the clock to serve your customers before they walk off in a huff. Being a Diner Dash and Burger Rush fan, I'm thrilled that Burger Island combines the elements and concepts of two of my favourite games. Really, it's like playing two games in one (sort of =P).
The graphics are suitably arresting, the music is fun and I love that French waiter who helps you around the joint. Not sure if what he's mumbling really IS French, but it's entertaining nonetheless just hearing him speak.
My only regret with this game is that the demo was over before I knew it. It's sad that I can't easily purchase the full version of this game. Not having the advantage of living in the USA, I'll have to save up quite a bit before I can buy it (exchange rates ... they're killer!). But from what I've played so far, I think this game is definitely a keeper.
And if you don't want to buy it, at least give it a shot. You won't go wrong here - not if you're a Diner Dash-type game fan like myself.
At least, I don't think so. ;-)
Oh, and word of advice - don't play this on an empty stomach. I was definitely feeling hunger pangs by the time I reached the fourth, fifth level of the game.

Adorable ...
I loved this game. Granted, I could only play the trial version, as there's no way I can afford the real thing (being in a non-US country and all). But it was so much fun! Being a fan of Diner Dash, it's no wonder that I caught on to this game just as quickly. Not too fond of the 3D graphics, or the sound - that giggling when the customers are served got on my nerves after a while - but I did laugh outright when Snowy performed on the podium. That was just toooooo cute!
The gameplay is similar to Diner Dash, with a few extra changes, like the drive-thru window. I just wish there had been a chance for poor Snowy to call in for help, because after a while it just got too hectic for the poor guy to handle all on his own.
Overall, I give it two thumbs-up. If you like the fun of Diner Dash (both versions), then you'd definitely love Snowy's Lunch Rush.
Oh, and his little chef friend, too. ^_^ |

Very cute ...
Okay, so I'm biased. I love games like these, so quite naturally I would write a good review for this. Admittedly, the concept is very similar to games like Carrie the Caregiver and Diner Dash, but that doesn't make this any less interesting. True, after a while it does get a little boring, but these are the kind of games you can play if you just want to unwind and don't really want to think.
Not exactly the best game ever, but I loved it anyway. Major adorable points, though, because it revolves around animals, and I just adore anything that looks cute and cuddly.
^_^
Good game for those who are just looking for something they can play to pass the time without having to rack their brains too hard. |

Disappointment ...
The ratio of poor reviews to good reviews should have clued me in. But being an idealist, I decided to give this game the benefit of the doubt and download the trial version, just to see what it was about.
It turned out to be a huge disappointment. Within the first few levels I got annoyed with the game. The customers get impatient very quickly, and it gets very annoying after a while when you can't click the same order repeatedly. You have to go back to the shop, click it and then deliver it. It was a waste of time to do it over and over again just to score the bonus. I think the only thing I liked about the game was the "Special Order" sequence, but it's not enough to make up for the rest of the game.
In many ways it resembled Pizza Frenzy but in my opinion this game is a poor imitation of the hit game. The graphics are poor, the overall gameplay is mediocre and it doesn't seem to have the same kind of "fun factor" I got when I was playing Pizza Frenzy.
On a whole, this game ranks below average in my book. Don't waste your money on this. If you want a game like this, get Pizza Frenzy. You won't lose with that one, but you will with this. |

Not bad ...
I usually like games like these. It's fun, a good way to unwind and get your mind off things. This game can't compare to similar games like Diner Dash or even Snowy's Lunch Rush or Cake Mania, but it's simple to play with fairly decent graphics.
I mean simple as in easy to follow, of course. The game itself can be a bit challenging at certain levels, but I suppose that's what keeps this game from being a waste of time. But once you finish it, well, you kind of lose interest in going back and trying again.
Overall, I'd give this maybe 2 and a half out of 5 stars. Decent, simple and an all right game if you're not looking for anything too taxing. Is it worth the money for the full version? No, I don't think so.
But hey, to each their own. |
