Eye Catching!
I am completely surprised that this is such a wonderful game! I downloaded the trial version and was completely hooked within minutes. The screen shots really don't do the game justice.
The story version of the game provides some structure for your collection of precious shells and such. It keeps you wanting one more clue, one more challenge, one more step towards finding out where the mystery lies.
Even without a story to go by, this game is riveting. The waves washing shells up on the ever changing beaches make you wish this came with a screensaver. I just want to play it for the sound of the waves crashing and the sand washing over the objects. The sand washing over and slightly obscuring some of the shells shows you just how much detail there is in this game. You even have to use your cursor to brush away the sand!
Little tokens help you out along the way as you try to find the shells, sea horses, starfish, and sea glass before the next wave washes them away!
I recommend this game with all my heart. Even if you don't like seek and find games, you should give this game a chance. I think you'll find you like it. |

Saving the Swee!
I've never played a game quite like this one before. The concept is really very novel. It's nice to find a game so different from the rest.
The Great Tree begins with an illustrated story describing your role in the game. The Great Tree must be pollinated with the pollen from special types of flowers. The Swee, beautiful creatures of light, used to have that dangerous role until they were bewitched. So now you, as a faerie, must dodge the numerous enemies in order to collect a trail of pollen.
There are a multitude of power ups and attributes that can help you in your quest. In each level you must collect a certain amount of pollen and when you've amassed as much as you can carry you have the option of clicking to destroy enemies around you or turning in the pollen for double points. This is a very useful feature! Also, by killing enemies or rescuing the Swee you can attain power up such as health, aura shields, or freezing all the enemies for a short time.
As you rescue the Swee you are rewarded with Star Points. You can use these points to modify the attributes of your faerie with Agility, Health, Strength or Magic. On top of all that, along the way you are also given new wings with certain powers to help you defy the perils of collecting the precious pollen.
I have to say that the ability to change and develop your faerie as you progress is extremely enticing! The backgrounds and even the enemies are interactive and beautiful. Among the very first levels is a frog that follows your every move as you flit about gathering pollen. I swear he wanted my wings as a tasty tidbit!
If you're up for something new and spectacular, give this Reflexive game a try! |
