Hogwarts Academy?!
I enjoy playing these MCF style games. What I really like about this game, is that it's more than just searching for objects that are listed; there's things like spotting the difference, looking for a number of the same objects, and tile swapping.
The only thing that really put me off was halfway through the game, I had totally forgotten what the story line was about. Suddenly we're talking about ghosts, and missing sisters, and you have a new friend that resembles Harry Potter, but I couldn't put two and two together (but that's just me).
Other than that, it had smooth gameplay, and was pretty much enjoyable. |

I loved this game!
Aside from being a fan of MCF style (seek and find) games, I love mystery games such as the other Agatha Christie games. This had the both combined, and I really enjoyed the fact that there was a strong story line which keeps you in suspense. I also enjoyed the fact that you can question suspects, and there are different and challenging tasks for you after you've completed each round.
The music was beautifully orchestrated, and was consistent with the mood of the game. |

I AM the Apprentice!
I LOVE this game! As a personal fan of the show, I feel that I can relate to the game. It was something I really enjoyed.
The only downside I can think of, is that there are only 3 main locations and tasks to do that keep repeating over and over except for the increased level of difficulty. It would be really nice to see a wider variety of tasks. Aside from that, too be very honest, the "ooh"ing noises the girls make when trying on clothes can be very annoying, and consequently led me to mute my sound. |

Serving drinks!
Overall, I thought the concept of the game was different; original in a sense, since I've not seen a game exactly like this one before.
It kept me relatively amused and occupied initially, but after the first few rounds I started to get bored. I don't know whether I should blame the gameplay itself, or all those small things that contributed to a bad experience.
The soundtrack was at best, annoying. However, no matter how much I hated the soundtrack, the music would cut off every now and then, which would annoy me even more. What was worse, when it came to playing the CD of the day, or Happy Hour, the game would become laggy and very sluggish, which put me off. I also had problems with clicking, where I would need to click multiple times on peanuts and magic potions just to pick them up. The other downside is that graphics wise, this was really not up to the standard of other games out there. |

Unbelievably addictive!
At first glance, I assumed this was just another tower defense game, akin "Garden Defense". How wrong I was!
Instead of the typical towers you get on other Tower Defense game, each plant has it's own special characteristic which can be used to counter the strengths of each zombie. Not sure which plant to use against which zombie? Just check out the handy Almanac! Not only does it state the features of each plant and zombie, it gives a little quirky insight into each of their personalities.
The best part of the game is that it never ends! After you complete the story mode, there are many mini-games and puzzles for you to complete - all will earn you money to purchase things at the shop!
I think this is a really great game that everyone in the family can enjoy, plus the music video is too cute! |
