HEXALOT
This is by far the neatest game I have played in a very long time. No matching three of a kind, but a challenge to solve. Use your strategic skills. I have been through both adventure and arcade versions 4 or 5 times and I have not tired of it yet. Somebody please create Hexagon II and I will buy it immediately. |

Jewel Quest II
Jewel Quest II is a great sequel to the very successful original puzzler. It adds some new mechanics and really improves the production values, something that I think will go a long way toward keeping eyeballs on the game. There dozens upon dozens of puzzles, so this isn't one you'll finish up in a weekend.
The first JQ was hardly a breeze, but expect to replay puzzles more than once in order to clear them and move on through the game. This does add a lot of replay value to the game, but I confess on occasion, it wasn't the kind of replay I necessarily enjoy. "Come on, stupid gems!" I would occasionally exclaim while playing, but with some added colorful language. If you suffer from the same kind of verbal slips, you may want to play Jewel Quest II in private, too.
The Tournament mode is a good joke. Are you really playing with other gamers? No, you're not, but that's the game. |

TRIJINX
I began this game and couldn't stop until I'd beaten all the levels. Then I played it again from the beginning. Then I played it AGAIN from the beginning. It's a wonderful take-off on a standard game play theme of matching three things to remove them from the board, with more things falling into the board all the while. But TriJinx changes it up enough to keep you interested in the game play. Sure, the back story is cute, but it's not the essential part of the game. |
