Granny Extends Her Vacation
If you played Granny in Paradise, and have been waiting for Sandlot to release SuperGranny 3, wait no more - it's here - and better than ever! In this version, Granny has a bunch of new tricks up her sleeve but the premise is the same, help granny rescue her kitties while she plants flower and vines. The graphics in this version are much better than in previous versions and granny's comments are just as nutty as ever sometimes making it hard to concentrate because you're giggling so hard at what she says. There is an assortment of new enemies such as the Pink Poodles and hound dogs which are much fiercer than the dogs in the previous version and a frying pan which does a great job of frying enemies like an egg.
This version has an excellent tutorial for newcomers so if you've never played before, it's probably a bit easier to get acquainted with it.
This game is probably targeted to the 25+ generation although anyone can play it.
It's one of my all time favorites although it's not an easy game by any stretch of the imagination. |

A Christmas Present for Cake Mania Lovers but needs to have bugs worked out
If you have played Cake Mania, you are in for an absolute treat. The character in this game is Sandy who is trying to save her grandmother's toy shop. She has two elve's who help her paint toys and and as she gets better (and of course faster - she upgrades the look of her shop with a choice of accessories and adds new tools etc to help her in her trade. The graphics are stunning and the music is just what you want for Christmas. Of course as the game progresses, the customers get more demanding and Sandy must move faster and become more effecicienet which makes this a MUST buy for all your friends and family who are a fan of the action/arcade games such as cake mania, diner dash etc.
The only problem with this game is that it can be a bit buggy - I found it crashed seveveral times on various levels if certain combinations were done - particularly on levels where the witch was being used. I also found that at times the items were hard to pick up or click. The cursor is not a normal cursor and there is no option to switch to the normal windows cursor. Perhaps this would help. Also at times, the software strands you with a gift when you try to pick up the wrapping for some unknown reason. You haven't done anything wrong but you have an empty tray and cannot move Sandy, or click anything. The only option is to restart the level. This is not really a major issue since your game is saved at every level and you don't lose lives or anything like that - the goal is simply to make it to the end of the game.
Overall, the graphics are enchanting, the gameplay is excellent and the music is fun. If the developers simply take some time and work out the bugs - releasing this next year as believe in Santa 2 will be sensational. |

Finally, a DIFFERENT Breakout Game!
I've played every type of breakout game out there. I admit that I'm addicted to them. However, because of that I've become very picky and in order for me to buy a breakout it has to be both challenging AND entertaining. This game fills the bill on BOTH counts. I sure never expected a small bubble to be my ball and that I would have to pick up big animals and avoid hitting other types of objects such as gas to avoid causing pollution!!!This game has all kinds of neat twists, you need to keep your cash level up in order to feed the animals in your zoo (even while not playing so it has an element of simiulation) and even a mystery with martians where you need to avoid martians shooting at you. All bundled in a comic style adventure. The neat part of it all is it's set up for the entire family - you can set it to play on child mode or normal and normal is not so easy once you get to the second island. I got killed off at the end of island 2 and I consider myself an expert breakout player. I guess I'll be going back for more. |

Slingo Quest - amazing
I just took a look at slingo quest and was amazed at the quality for a $20.00 game. If you have played other slingo type games, you already know that slingo is a game simaler to bingo and slots combined but with a twist. This game takes it a step further and makes it a true quest complete with pirates who try to steal your cash, treasure that you can acquire if you are brave and even a stamp book similar to a passport to show all your great achievements.
What really struck me was the graphic work put into this. The graphics are truly 3d and it looked as if I could actually reach into my monitor and turn the pages! There is some strategy to this game although like most slingo, it's pretty much blind luck. If you just want some pure fun - get this game! You won't regret it! |

A Celtic Twist on Breakout Games Doesn't Quite Cut it
I love breakout games but I'm either getting too good at them or this one is just very very short and easy. This is based on a story which revolves around stonehenge and 6 idols with each idol being a stage. The stages didn't seem to get progressively harder although the game was very relaxing compared to most breakouts. There is no option to play easy, normal, hard. I played the entire game without ever losing my lives and was somewhat disappointed that there was no boss level of any kind, even tho it professed that I had "mastered" all of the challenges. The layouts were nothing special, and the bricks were the usual assortment. If you are looking for a real challenge and fun look elsewhere. If you are looking for an oriental brickbuster, then this fills the bill. |
