Wholesome Fun!

This game is great. My little sister loves it! She maxed out the demo version I downloaded a long time ago. Hehe! I've been wanting to review this game for a long time, but never had the time to. The graphics are phenomenal! It's so cute to look at! Not to mention it's very neat. The sound is okay. It's not outstanding, so to speak, because it's forgettable. I can't even exactly remember what it sounds like anymore. Hehe.. The gameplay is great! It's very kid-friendly yet still pretty challenging. I can't really say much about this game other than it's a neatly-built game and it's fun for everyone! Kids and adults alike!

Drool as you play this beautiful game!

This has got to be the most original idea for a game yet! Once you start, it's hard to stop. It's like a magnet. The storyline is very engaging; makes you want to know what will happen next. The controls are very nicely-configured. You only need the mouse to move Wik around and to collect Grubs and toss 'em at Slotham. It's that simple. It's hard not to have fun while playing Wik and the Fable of Souls. The game's physics is top-notch. This is the type of game where you have fun as you plan your next move. The graphics are breathtakingly beautiful and neat, I tend to drool while playing! I especially like the slow-mo effect. I'm really inlove with the artwork in this game, I just wish we could have 'em at a bigger resolution (Hint: Reflexive, the next time you release a game like this and The Great Tree, please add an option to adjust the screen resolution, especially since probably most of us nowadays have hi-res monitors. **I wonder how beautiful and sharp Wik would've looked like on my monitor at 1440x900?). The sound is terrific! It gives you a fairytale feel...I don't know why. And the score is pretty catchy. I found my self humming the main menu theme probably more than a couple dozen times already since I played the game. The character: Wik is great! He looks weird but he's adorable! I really like how he's presented! Overall, this game is awesome to the nth degree! The level of challenge is unbelievable once you reach the later levels. Try the demo out and I guarantee you'll absolutely love it!

Shibee-shibee-shibee...

Gumboy: Crazy Adventures is a great game! It is very unique and fresh! I can't count how many break-out games, or match-three games I've seen released lately. Most of them have the same stuff, same gameplay, same everything! But this.. This game is just too good and new! It's really cool! The physics in this game is top-notch! I'm really impressed! You have got to try this game out. It's amazing! The graphics look fantastic! They give you that great feel. They make you want to play the game! They're so relaxing to look at. The sound is great as well! The sound effects have a very distinct nature-y tone. The level-designs are perfect! Pretty challenging to be honest.. But unlike in other games that, once you start having a hard time beating a level, you somewhat get tired of the game and lose interest.. That doesn't happen here! Not to me, at least. Not so far. Haha! The creators did a really good job at making the physics in this game work with/in the environment they designed. The difficulty to get Gumboy to go to a certain platform, or the like, tends to get somewhat frustrating at times...but that is hardly enough to stop you from enjoying this beautifully-crafted game! About the game's system requirements. You don't really need much if your sole intention is to play it. My system is 6 years old (no upgrades) and I'm still able to run it (Edit: This was about a year before. Now I have a new computer and I'm playing the game at max settings! Now it looks even more breathtaking)! What I did was run the game at a lower resolution, then voila! I'm off playing it! Anyway, seriously, you need to try this game out! It's fun! And wait 'til you hear Gumboy's gumboyisms... The thing is plenty cute I tell ya!

A Great Tweak To An Old Machine!

I have gotten sick of all the break-out games out there. Because they tend to be just clones of each other. Nothing's ever new except for the graphics. But FizzBall is different. It's a new twist to an old formula. A nicely tweaked old machine. The gameplay is still like all those break-out games out there, but for some reason it feels fresh. Maybe because of the tilted 3D look, the game's objectives and its overall design. FizzBall is nothing new, but it's far from being a simple clone of the classic Arkanoid. The graphics are superb. They're cartooney and wholesome. The sound is great. They fit the game very well. The gameplay is fantastic. Like I said, it plays just like the old break-out games, but something about it is new. Something that I want you to personally find out for yourself if you're curious about what it is. Try it out and I think you'll love it!

Nicely balanced challenge and fun.

First off, I would like to say that this game never really caught my interest when I first saw it here on Reflexive. I thought the display image was rather cheap-looking and I didn't want to bother. A week ago, I downloaded a demo for this game called 'Monster Mash' for my little sister. Just something for her to help pass time when I'm babysitting. After 2-3 levels I think, she asked for my help. I started playing for her and, to my surprise, I found the game very interesting. But the trial ran out (she'd used-up most of it because it took her a while to learn the basics). Anyway, I went online and searched for similar-type games, then I found King Mania -- which lead me to this.

I can't afford to buy the full version, but from the demo, I have to say that this game's pretty good. I can't believe I looked past this just because of a cheap-looking 'box shot.' Anyway, the game gets pretty challenging pretty soon. It's not at all a bad thing because that's basically why it's so much fun. Every time you fail, you end up trying to come up with the best combination of towers and upgrades until you finally get it right. (Here's a tip: Build at least a couple towers of each type, land & air. Keep upgrading them. Put them semi-close together. Also, make use of the ice tower and keep upgrading that as well.) As for the 'repetitive music' (as some have pointed-out)... Yes, the music does get repetitive. It didn't annoy me as much though because I noticed that each level has different music. They may only be 15 second sound bites looped over and over, but it never really bothered me. I like putting my focus on the actual gameplay rather than nitpicking on the music, thank you. Now, about the graphics. For an indie game, the graphics in this are pretty good. You can't expect much, graphics-wise, from indie games unless the developers are loaded. But even though the character and object models only have very few polygons, they still look pretty good and nicely textured.
