Great game!
I downloaded this game mostly for the size (fairly short download time on dial-up).
Its a match 3+ game that offers a little more than just matching 3 pieces. You are a wanderer that is helping Zeus recover a stolen relic. You need to clear gold backed tiles and sometimes clear all the jewels from the screen too. Zeus helps you, along with heroes that you unlock as you progress through the game. After each hero there is a mini game where you need to swap tiles to recreate an image, and this image is then available as wallpaper for your desktop. There is also a mini biography for each hero, which I found interesting. There are three levels of play, easy, med and hard, and its a timed game.
I liked this game for the wallpaper innovation. The game runs fast and smooth. The moving backgrounds are simply amazing (especially the sunset!) you have to see it to believe it! The bonuses help a great deal, and some, if you hit them all at once are rather neat and fun to see. There is also a trophy room. The sound effects are good, the music does get repetitive but its bearable.
This is a good game, and I'm considering getting the full version, just to meet the other heroes.
All in all, a worthy download. Try it, you may just like it! |

Wits, clobbering, dino-steaks!
I initially downloaded this game because it looked fun, and it wasn't too too big (takes forever on dial-up).
I loved it, and hated it. You get to play 4 different characters, 2 humans, 2 dinos, and at times, I just quit out of frustration (kept dying, or getting lost). But, it always worked out when I'd taken a break.
This game is awesome, here's why:
There are TONS of levels to be played, some with 2 "missions", others with 5-6. You need to use not only that trusty club, but stones, wits, and other goodies you get to throw around. There are also hidden objects in some places.
The "old-school" graphic style may seem old, but if you look at the facial expression, they can be quite funny.
There are also "movies" you can watch, that are unlocked throughout the game.
Another good thing is, you don't always need to finish all the missions to move on to the next "chapter", and you can always go back and finish them later.
Though you die often, free men and 1-ups are fairly easy to come by.
Your backpack spaces and heart increase with time.
There are also checkpoints, so you don't have to start ALL over.
Its a game of wits, skill, dexterity and fun humor. It has a good story-line, and it will make (most) people laugh.
The sound effects are cute too.
The downsides:
Its sometimes too easy to get hurt or die. Its sometimes frustrating, especially when there is no check points.
It can also be confusing at times where to go first, though the arrows help a little.
The music at first is great, but it quickly gets annoying.
Your character does slide a little upon landing. But with a little practice, its not so bad.
Results:
Graphics: pretty good (for the "type" of game it is)
Sound: great
Music: could be better
Playability: excellent
Addictiveness: definitely there.
All in all, a great game. Download it, chances are, you'll love it! |

Excellent!
This game follows in the footsteps of Mysteryville 1 and 2, except this time, its with different characters. I found this one had items that were harder to find, at times, and some items were not translated properly to English.
All in all, except for the grammar/translation, which kept distracting me, this game is excellent. The music can be repetitive, but some of it is very goof (imho). It also has many more levels than the other games from this team, and interesting in-between games, some of which actually make you think.
If you like hide and seek games, try it, you'll like it! |

Hawaiian and the last insult
Here I thought would be a new installment to a super series. Sigh, unfortunately, its not, just 2 older parts bundled into one. Great deal, if you've not bought the others before. Otherwise, same old same old (but still very good :)
It would be so very sweet if a new "chapter" would come out for these holidays! This series is a classic! |

An addictive game even Dad approves of!
An addictive game in which one twists their brain to come up with as many words as they possibly can. Great to keep the wits and vocabulary sharp. A game even (my) Dad approves of (Woah!)! A must for the whole family! Definitely worth buying! (I had a cell-phone version and played it til my cell died ;) ) |
