I've Found The Fountain Of Youth
Okay ... not really, but it's what we all wish for, eh? Actually this game does have a fountain of youth and SO much more. If you are a fan of the Virtual Villagers trilogy, then you'll have no problems falling in love with this game.
This game is really beautiful. There are literally Billions of islands to choose from making the replay value a wonderful addition. I'm currently on the first island, so I'm not sure what happens after I've solved the puzzles. I eagerly await finding out.
There are so many awesome features in this game. Once you've discovered the fountain of youth, you can use the correct potion to rapidly decrease the age of an elder. I really enjoy this feature because you need never die after investing so much into one character.
There are many puzzles to be solved. This game introduces Moondust and Stardust that fall from the sky and can be collected for various purposes. Finding out what they do is a fun challenge in itself. You will find yourself mixing potions that do wonderful things. I believe there are over 40 potions to work with. I keep a little notebook by me as I play as to keep track of potions and what they do. You will often see barrels and crates wash ashore. They can have nice or nasty surprises inside. Sometimes you will learn how to mix a certain potion. Sometimes the person you drop on it will increase in a certain skill. At times you will get a nasty little surprise and you'll wish that you hadn't opened the crate lol.
Once you learn how to use your items wisely, you'll find your characters ranking up in no time. The possibilities are endless.
You will earn trophies. You will have children (the right potion allows for twins!) I find the graphics to be better than Virtual Villagers. The gameplay in itself never gets old. I'm constantly checking the map screen for any surprises that may have fallen from the sky. From mushrooms to bird doo, little things are there for collecting. Five stardusts for this game! (-: |

This is a prime example of a generic hide and seek game that fails miserably. I'm actually stunned that this game made it to reflexive. The first installment of this game was sheer disappointment. This one is just the same. This game makes me feel like I'm stuck in an old folk's home. It's boring like no other game. There's that same old man staring at you as you search for items that may or may not look like what you need to find. This is like an elementary school project that flunked with flying colors. I adore reflexive, but just look at the other reviews for this game. They are spot on. It's been some time since a really good game has been released. This game represents a genre of wanna be's trying to make a buck. As a fan of hide and seek games, I'm very disappointed. Everything about this madness gets one star and would be less if that were optional. If you're into plucking gray hairs and watching paint dry, this game is for you. Nuff said. |

Just Yes
I'm jealous that when I was 8 years old I was popping quarters in the video arcade for space invaders. My nephew is 8 now. He won't let me anywhere near this game because he knows I won't give it back until I try to win "Nightmare" mode.
I only beat nightmare once. Let me tell you that level 70 in very near impossible w/o true skill and a power up for luck. If you like a fast paced shoot-em up style game that never gets old, this is a keeper. You really have to know your enemies and what to expect from them to progress. Brilliant game!
The only downside to this game for me is the timing system. You may finish a phase in 8 minutes on easy. It will take longer on higher difficulties. I do wish that I could try to beat my own time on nightmare mode, as you cannot compete to finishing quicker on easy. Aside from that, which is not even important, this game is simply fantastic! If you like it, buy it. You never ever play the same game twice. Please please please bring a third version to the mix. |

Very Stale
Perhaps if this game was "The" original hide and seek game it would serve more potential. This game is extremely bland from the start. Upon downloading, I was eager to see some scenic pitures set in Hawaii. From the trial version, I didn't see anything impressive.
The pictures are basically a ripoff of Titanic. The items are not terribly hard to spot except for the poor choices made. Even someone with 20/20 eye vision would have a hard time spotting a beetle when it is a little brown speck that looks more like a raisin. I consider myself to be very good at these type games. I was underwhelmed by some of the items discovered. It wasn't the items in themselves as much as how choppy they looked. Even a pro will have to take blind stabs to pin some of these things.
A game with this title should have a better variety of scenic pictures. Instead, we have old men in cluttered rooms reading a newspaper. Funny, how when prompted to find a newspaper, it didn't count. The newspaper this game wanted looked more like an ancient scroll.
The music in this game may be the worst I've heard ever. The soundtrack would be gold label on elevator music chart. When you have a game composed of cheap elevator music, senior citizens reading the paper, and a yawnfest storyline ... it's a no brainer. I'm sorry to be so negative, but there is nothing Hawaii about this. Hide and seek games improve and get better all the time. If you like the atmosphere in the screenshots, I highly recommend Titanic instead. |

Less Filling ... Tastes Great
Grab a cold beer or whatever perks you up. This game is a riot! I'd love to see more games like this. This is completely different then the typical hide & seek / match 3 / time play game.
Okay, so maybe the time factor counts, if you want all A+'S. You get scored based on how much you eat. You may start off in a patch of grass, but you will wind up mowing that grass in a minute if you progress enough. Each world is unique and addicting.
Downside .... I wish there could be more levels. I'd buy the sequel anyway. You can easily get "stuck" and have to waste precious seconds getting out. I put up with this aggrivation until I mastered the control of mouse. I have an A+ on all levels apart from the cafe. I've also been playing this for two days straight.
I can't imagine my computer without this game. It'll impress the guests lol. This is what I'd call a "Rare" game. 90% of the game makers are bringing on generic versions of everything else. This is not the case. This game is sheer fun. Don't let one bad revue turn away. This game couldn't be easier to learn. You hold down the left mouse button to move and steer. Let off the mouse to stop. It's that easy.
It's a rarity that I would buy a game as there are so many "you wish" games out there. If you read this, please download the trial version. This is something brand new. No mini games, no find this, find that. This game is simply unique with adorable graphics. I encourage more games on this genre. I wouldn't buy a "remake" of this unless it was top notch. This game has a few flaws, but is well worth the cost. Treat yourself! |
