Fantastic sequel, just as addictive!
This is one addiction I don't mind sticking to! I was one of the many who had the honour of previewing the game and given the opportunity to give a few suggestions. I haven't bought the full purchased game but the one I played is the full game, hopefully with some tweaking as suggested by the testers. First of all, the game play is same as Burger Shop, except this has more items. Not only restricted to burgers, fries and the fast food game, it now has breakfast and proper dinner so to speak. So expect to serve cereals, milk, steak, spaghetti and a whole lot more, making the game play more challenging but never exhaustive, boring or way too difficult to discourage you. That is what I love about Burger Shop in the 1st place; it is easy to understand, terribly easy to play but if you're those really slow with your mouse, it will prove challenging. The challenge for me is try not to waste any food. I hope some penalty is incorporated for wasting food. The preview game was great, but each session is just way too short and I missed the aliens with their tower of burger order. You have more types of customers, mostly quite patient. I believe the aim of the creators is not to frustrate the players but entice you to go back for more. Believe me, they have succeeded again.
I can't fault the graphic. Made me hungry just looking at the food. Now you have a choice of music, all very fun and definitely suits the game play. I can't complain much because this game is to me even better than Burger Shop in the sense it is wider scope but again I hope there are longer sessions with each gameplay and also some penalty involved.
For those who love Burger Shop, YOU MUST BUY THIS ONE! It is similar but not the same. So you may have Burger Shop, that is not the same as Burger Shop 2. I did suggested a change of name because it is no longer just burgers. Maybe Food Shop, or The Restaurant or something else.
I am now looking forward to Burger Shop 3. I just can't wait.

Play and play and play and never be bored!
I have very fond memories of a game I once had where I played as Marco Polo, traveling around the world, buying spices, selling, trading and running errands for Kublai Khan.
The setting is basically a huge map, static characters with typed dialogues. The goal is to be rich and in that game, I played so well, I was very rich at the end of it. It also had a cool soundtrack suitable for the era.
After playing Chocolatier for just 10 min, it brought back those fond memories. I could play this game forever. You will encounter various characters asking you to buy and sell stuff, in this game chocolates.
You will get new recipes, buy the ingredients at various ports where you can haggle the price, make the chocolates by playing a mini shoot and score game and in the end buy factories and become a mogul of chocolates.
The characters are static, this is not an RPG game where your character is seen. You will see a picture of a port, which at first can be quite confusing since you don't know which building is which, you have a small message panel that will tell you what you bought/sell, your mission and and the errands to run. You can then click the map and travel the world in search of more ingredients and recipes.
After the short but useful tutorial, you're basically on your own which can be quite daunting since there is no intro to the towns but check out the occasional messages, it can contain useful info on cheap ingredients to buy and at which port. The graphics are lovely, the chocolates look delicious, the map convincing and the music, the best of the lot is a suitable companion piece to this game. If you have played that Marco Polo game I mentioned, this is the game for you because it is almost 100% like it, except for the era. It would be nice if the Queen/King of England sends my character on an errand. Someone recognizable but thus far, the characters are fictional.
All in all, a wonderful game which you can play for a very long time without feelin |

WARNING! Serious clicking action required in this game!
I do depend a lot on reviews in this site to see which game to try out or to purchase. So when I was writing how disappointed I was with Sushi Frenzy, I read about this game with a similar theme. I tried the 1st The Apprentice game before, and didn't like it. I knew a friend who has this game and I tried this one out and I must say, thanks for the recommendation fellow reviewers/gamers/netizens. A great game indeed. It is difficult, which is why there was never the option of easy/difficult/die trying. What I love about this game isn't the Donald Trump quotes. His daughter's cartoonised face almost made me stop playing but the best is there are 3 games in each level.
1st is managing a sushi restaurant and it is akin to Diner Dash and that disastrous Sushi Frenzy, with better graphics and very challenging game play. I love this part so much I was disappointed I had to move to the 2nd part. My question is why no one has made a decent Sushi Restaurant game yet? I will definitely buy that. My only complain is the sushi, not enough variety.
2nd is managing a boutique shop, fetching customers the dresses, bag, shoes, etc. Quite difficult since there are so many things to be done at one time and I didn't quite like the snooty customers.
3rd, the hardest is managing a beach side equipment rental shop. It can get frantic, since you have to fetch things for customers and put back items into respective rack. And the customers are so impatient.
Whilst the game is enjoyable, the sushi being the best part, after a while it can get very difficult and tiring because it all boils down to how fast you can click the mouse button and how fast your eyes can dart from one side to the other side of the screen spotting what the customers want. But what this game isn't is boring. It is fast paced, beautifully rendered and although it is called The Apprentice, really it isn't like the TV show.
Get ready for some serious clicking action. Now I hope for Sushi Dash PLEASE!!! |

The worst Reflexive has to offer? Not really but probably 2nd worst
I haven't played all games in Reflexive to give a fair comment on which is the worst game ever, but having played a fair amount of similar themes, most notably Diner Dash & all those games pretending to be a bartender, this Sushi Frenzy didn't leave me in a frenzy. It left me huffing and puffing with complete and utter disappointment that such a lame excuse for a game could be foun in this otherwise awesome game site. I was so happy to see a game based on a sushi restaurant since I like sushi. I was hoping some challenging gameplay and some sushi rolling as well as tempuras frying. Something different and yet playable. What I had was... well .. really bad.
The graphics were horrible, but I suppose the creators were trying to adopt a manga approach and failed. The sushi looked as tempting as a dead fish rotting under a hot sun for a whole year. The characters boring. The gameplay confusing. The tutorial, none. The tutorial in the game, clicked and nothing happened. Tried playing for 1 minute and nothing worked. In fact click on anything and nothing happened at all, with the character you play, that sushi chef standing there like a statute with customers fuming and leaving although you click and click and click away. i am sure zombies moved faster than this chef. In fact why aren't there any Zombie Frenzy? I am sure that would be so much more interesting than this dud.
Try something else. Try Diner Dash and its sequels. Let this game be a reminder to the developers and creators and designers and everybody involved in its conceptualisation, designing, packaging and ultimately promotion that frankly the very first process, conceptualising it was already all missing. It's not even a boring game. How can a game be boring if you don't even feel like playing beyond 1 minute? I deleted it after a minute.
Even if bundled as free, I'd rather not install it since it is a complete waste of space. Even Nanny Mania had more things to do, however repetetive it was. Miss! |

Great music! Let's dance!
By stage 2 my Mevo is not funky enough!
Ahhh..this reminds me of those Playstation disco dance pad? Except you use your mouse or keyboard. Imagine if this comes with the dance pad, we can dance a storm! The graphics are simple and yet effective and the gameplay is quite difficult and will I suppose be increasingly hectic. What is easy to understand is when arrow left appears hit left, when right appears hit right. Nothing complicated except can you hit directly on note?
What impresses me the most is the music. So really well.. FUNKY. I love that every left or right arrow I hit contributes to the music and I felt like I was making music as I was playing and I really felt like dancing to the really well.. funky tunes. Sounds like original tunes. Anyway I am at 2nd stage but the music fits the environment your Mevo (that is your dancing self on screen) is in, like sea will have sea type sounds. I mean give it a try to know what I mean.
I am however confused with the menu page and the features available since not much explanation. The gameplay is explained though, each level is divided into silver, gold and diamond scores. You play the same level but get better scores so to speak and get allocated a silver, gold or diamond. Better you hit the arrows in tune with the music and exactly when your Mevo hits the arrow, the better score.
Overall a very enjoyable game with very good music. It is the music that elevates this game. Give me the dancepad now! |
