Great game based on an old school toy!
Going in to this game, I wasn't expecting much. Since I enjoyed this toy as a child, I figured that I'd give it a try. Heck, it's only an hour wasted if I didn't like it, right? Boy was I wrong!! The developers, Freeze Tag, did a great job on the story line... even if it does steal/borrow from childhood stories of Hansel & Gretal and The Wizard of Oz, and Disney movies. All-in-all, it's a great game. There are different modes to play, and the ever-so-cool Etch-a-Sketch it's self... free-style, I call it. The only thing that I'd add would be the 'shake' to the free-style so that you could start over fairly easy.
Will I buy this game? You betcha!! |

Cute game, but you MUST know your MOVIES!!
This is a great Seek & Find game. Great concept with finding different props. on movie sets. One thing that I found a little difficult was that some/most of the items to find were so teeny-tiny, that I had to use the "help" button on 90% of the items to find. There was no way I would have found them otherwise! There doesn't seem to be any time restrictions on finding the objects, though.
At the end of each set, you're asked what movie the objects you found were from, or some other question related to the set. If you don't know your movies, you'll have a hard time guessing the correct multiple-guess answer.
Only 3* on the graphics, because the objects were so small, I couldn't find them most of the time. |

Trying to find something positive... :/
With all the negative reviews on this game, I was bound and determined to try and find something positive. I can't see that Reflexive would release a game that is awful as the reviewers are saying.
The background music was nice. It seems to fit. However, the SFX when the children started to cry reminded me why I don't have kids. I found this to be out-right annoying.
The graphics were alright. Not super-polished, but not all that bad either.
The game play is that of a typical time-management game. The title "Kindergarten" is mis-leading. It has nothing to do with Kindergarten. Seems like another "Day Care" game to me, ala Day Care Nightmare. One of the "bubbles" said that you could combo up to 8 tasks. I found this to be extremely difficult especially when you had to put a child back onto the floor.
The game also seemed to be repetitive in that the same children are being brought in. A little girl that reminded me of "Sally" from "Peanuts" and a little boy that reminded me of "Pig Pen". I also found it difficult in that the first few days you only get 2 children then all of a sudden you have 4! I was surprised that the player wasn't eased into the game with 2 children, then 3 before a 4th child was introduced. This made it hard in trying to purchase supplies from the "store".
This is one that I'll be passing on. |

This is one of the better ones!!
You know, I was never really a fan of 'seek & find' games until I came across Miss Teri Tale (which had a great story and it was fun to play). But enough of that, this is a review for Peril at End House. Like MTT, this had a great story, the rooms were nice and bright so that the items were easy (but not too easy) to find, and it has a great ending. The SFX/music in the game is hardly noticeable which I guess is a good thing... it means that it fits nicely in the game. :)
When I first started playing S&F games on my PC, all there was were the Mystery Case Files games, and the rooms were very dark, and the objects were even harder to find which really hurt my eyes and turned me off to them rather quickly.
This game is nothing like the MCF games. I will be more inclined to try S&F games in the future now that I've had success with Miss Teri Tale and Peril at End House. |
