Yeehaw! Saddle up at get ready for the ride of your life partner!

Very addictive, complex, and entertaining. I was able to spend hours at a time immersed in this game. The story line is interesting. With some level of mystery you find yourself wondering how the story may progress. Their are several side quest that compliment the main story line and add a bit more depth to this game. There is also a pretty healthy dose of humor involved here. I found myself laughing openly quite frequently.

The gameplay and controls can be annoying to say the least. The controls have been improved upon from the first version of this game but they could still use some modification. It also runs a but choppy on my computer. I meet the system requirements but the game freezes and morphs about when I scroll the map. It isn't too bad though. I would say about 5% of the time I am annoyed and 95% enjoying the heck out of the game.

Changes - First off, the controls are a lot more complex and the makers greatly improved on the old "right click and drag" movement function. Now you can select a group of people and simply right click on their destination rather than dragging them all the way there. For me I found this to be very easy. You can also zoom in and walk about the streets with your townies. Gold mines can be placed directly on the gold vein which takes up a lot less space. Employment and housing are much easier to control and maintain. Outhouses are no longer required to maintain a town, but they add to a towns overall happiness. There are new buildings and also a page for awards. The awards are earned when a person reaches a certain milestone. For example, if you are producing all three farmed crops at one time you will receive the MASTER FARMER award. I am sure there are a lot more additions unique to this sequel but I cannot remember them all lol.

I highly recommend buying this game if you already haven't. Just remember to wear your chaps to avoid chaffing partner xD.

Alice Greenfingers...the way it should have been!

I was able to stay interested throughout the entire game. As some of the other players stated before if you are looking for excitement this may not be your cup of tee. There is challenge in it though. Especially in the later levels.

The overall graphics were were good though I have a few complaints. I hate the sparkles that accompany plants throughout their growth period. It seemed kinda out of place and unnecessary. I assume they added the sparkle so you are aware that the plant is in its growth state and not producing but I found this unnecessary because the plant has several different appearances for its stages of growth. Also, I was disappointed with how boring and unified the fruit trees were.

The music was not bad. It was unique and did not sound home made like some similar games. I ended up turning of the music after a while though because the variety was lacking and you can only hear the same song so many times before you become agitated. The game's sound effects were EXTREMELY annoying for me...those were deserted after the second level.

One thing I found pretty strange...why the heck did they package fudge in jars???? I think this is because they were too lazy and just reused what ever files used in production of jelly.

Virtual Villagers -MEETS- Age of Empires

I agree with TygrTat. YOU DO NOT NEED A HELP FILE!
I am at the very end "I think" and never needed assistance even once.
The islands are littered with hints contrary to what some previous reviewers posted...

I am always exited about these kind of games so when I saw this I was pretty exited. I hate hidden object games but this is no hidden object game. Well at least not enough to put me off. It's more like Virtual Villagers meets Age of Empires. Of course the scale was nothing like age of empires but if you played that game you will definitely see some similarities.

The graphics are really good in some aspects and substandard in others though overall I would say they are very good. Your main character is really well designed but all other non hero type characters look drastically different. They are just little pixelated characters. This would be fine but it looks so weird having your hero walking around the island next to all of these little miniature people when they are the same species. Apparently a persons career dictates their height and appearance in this world lol. Other than that everything is really nice graphics wise. The islands, enemies, and buildings are great.

The sound is descent though it could have been better. It almost sounds like something I would make in GPRO. Anyway it's not so bad that it annoyed me and I kept the audio on throughout the entire game. There are no voice overs for the hero's dialogue. This may or may not be good for you but personally I dislike the voice overs in these kind of games so I was cool with it.

Gameplay was amazing for me. I played from the first island all the way to what I think is the final one all in two settings...and don't get me wrong! It's not because the game is too short, but because I was having a lot of fun and time off from work lol. This game has a great story line that keeps you interested as you progress from island to island leading your tribe for certain reasons that I will not spoil.

What a let down...

I am a fan of Last Day of Work and still love them but...

I am seriously disappointed with this release. I first played this game in the beta release which expired on the release date - - though I never made it that far. Even though I had excitedly waited for this game for a year I had to force myself to play for more than twenty minutes total. Maybe I was just expecting too much because of their Virtual Villagers releases coupled with my insane and unholy love for the sims 2. It's been a while since I played but here is what I remember liking and disliking.

The audio is very annoying and repetitive... in short it really isn't acceptable for a LDW release. I will let you be the judge of this. This is only my opinion.

The graphics are fine for me. They are in line with Virtual Villagers and was exactly what I was expecting. This isn't upping my overall rating though because who cares about graphics if the gameplay bores you.

Gameplay was absolutely boring. It was very much stagnant and left me constantly craving more dynamic actions. I believe even an ape would get bored watching someone sleep. It seems like everything is already set in stone leaving you no room for creativity. I would have liked to see some mysteries around that would lead to a story line like VV had. If not mysteries than MORE PUZZLES. And maybe the ability to customize the characters and yard/home a bit more.

I am giving a descent overall rating because this was a great concept. Reading only a short paragraph and seeing a few screenshots of some soil or the toilet at the LDW site was enough to excite me for nearly a year, so just for that I give one star to almost liked it.
