Quite a great change of pace.

Yes, it's obvious, it's like Virtual Villagers, let's just step away from that, shall we?

The most important aspect of this game to me is, that it offers something extraordinary... rewards for playing it. Yes, some other games (*cough*) allowed you to collect things for science when playing.... but this one allows you to collect potion parts, as well as special items that allow you to speed up building production, increase supplies, change the look of your tribe, and many more things. They also happen quite often, and when playing on certain islands, you can unlock the ability for them to show up, even more so.

Second thing I love about this game is the ability to move on and start over, with slight benefits. You don't get to keep everything you've worked for, such as resources, but you still get to keep other things. You can also search for islands that suit your needs.... with their "mysteries", as well as have the chance to solve 8 different puzzles in total.

Villagers can also live quite a long time, and if your island has the fountain of youth, as others have noted, you can help your gray haired villagers live even that much longer.

One of the last things I'd like to note about MyTribe, is something that is VERY important for me.... and that is the ease of controlling what your villagers do. Even as a baby, you can assign what your villager will do (such as collecting wood) and something amazing happens once they reach a certain age..... they actually harvest wood. There is no having to drag your person 20 times to something for them to be able to do it. Once you make sure you have enough villagers on every task, it's quite easy for the game to be self sufficient. Villagers can even do a number of tasks, so if you have one villager working on an art project (yes, I'm going to spoil it... making clothes for your villagers) then when he's finished, he'll also work towards another task he has been assigned (such as the wood gathering).

Good humor for more experienced players.

The game itself, is fun, strategic, yet repetitive... It's a real time strategy, which you have to try to set up at army to defeat the waves of enemies that are coming at you. The graphics are quite nice for such a small scale game, in my opinion. The sound effects are quite humorous, but they do get a bit old fast. You have about 2-3 voice overs for the characters, and as your clicking on them over and over to assign them tasks.... what once was funny, turns into a very annoying thing. (It's almost like getting married). The humor in the game is probably not something that young teenagers that will see as humorous... but for an older generation who has played games like this one for years, they would probably appreciate the humor... and it is quite humorous. All in all it's a good game to take a break from other bigger ones you may be playing, although not something I felt the need to finish as soon as possible.

Slowly goes downhill, but still playable.

When I first got this game, I expected it to be some type of word game, but it's far from it. It's like most of the better seek/find games, because there are puzzles thrown in. One thing I like about this game is it is quite challenging, by finding pieces of each thing... instead of the whole object, some are obvious..... others disappear completely. I also like that you have a "limited" number of hints that you are given based on finding little question marks in each puzzle, however, if you use them up, there are separate seek and find puzzles to get more hints. The one thing that disappointed me about this game is the fact that the story started off strong in the beginning, and just went downhill really fast for me. Not just the leaving it open for a second one... but just.... lacking. It also didn't take that long to complete for me either, but a good couple of days worth of fun.
