...Heals Some Wounds...
After a series of cute, but not too interesting dash games, this one definitely caught my attention.
It is nice to be in a new setting for a change - a hospital instead of restaurants and boutiques. The characters are awfully cute and I like that this game has a pretty distinctive animation style.
The gameplay is simple to anyone who has ever played a time-managment or dash game. The sounds are better than in most games of this genre, which was also a pleasant suprise.
I will have to admit, though, that buying upgrades can be somewhat difficult and it is true that the doctor tends to move equally fast no matter whether his speed has been upgraded or not.
Also, one of the mini games (the one where you wipe some goo from a patient's elbow or something) would sometimes be impossible to pass because the goo would disappear from the screen. It's probably a bug.
However, the game is very good and I enjoyed playing the demo. I definitely recommend it. |

Wow!
I am so in love with this game!
After Nertz, I thought there wouldn't be another solitaire game that I would like. Oh, was I wrong!
I am a big fan of fashion and design themed games, so this is exactly a thing for me!
You get to dress up girls using cards with clothes, following the girls' "goals", creating designs for your fashion show.
You even get to design the items, change their color, pattern and shape. (I love this part!)
The graphics are quite good, and the sound is okay. I have only started playing this, but I believe I am going to fall in love with it over and over again. :D |

I would have written this review sooner...
... had I not been busy playing this great game!
Indeed, this game is one of the best new games on Reflexive... even one of the best games on Reflexive in general!
The graphics are really cute. The style and the gameplay remind me of good old games like Captain Claw or Jazz Jackrabbit...
The story is funny and good - something many of us can relate to, which makes the game all the more enjoyable.
The sounds are great, and adding famous voice actors was a really good idea! (For some reason, I can actually imagine William Shatner in the role of such a guide...)
This game is sure worth buying, I can't wait to get the full version! |

Still haven“t fallen in love with Nertz? Are you nuts?!
Now, this is refreshing!
Not only is Nertz a lot more fun than the usual solitaire games, it also has very cute graphics and really good unlockable music tracks, so you will not get bored with the background music!
Adding squirrel family opponents is a nice touch, and makes it all even more adorable.
It does seem a bit too easy at times, but I have only played a few games in the championship so far, so I hope it will get more challenging later.
I know this is a solitaire game, but it is so good, I wish it had a multiplayer option! |

DD: Flo Through Time
First of all, let me say that I have played all of the Diner Dash games so far, and that I, as an artist, really, really long to see some more improvement in the graphics department when it comes to character design. No, I don't mean any fancy 3D graphics, just something cleaner and nicer than what we already have. A slightly refreshed style and a few more levels of shading would also do the trick.
That being said, this episode of Diner Dash is just as good as its predecessors. True, it is a bit more difficult, but I don't think it's a bad thing, a bit more challenge is always welcome, especially after you have played all the previous Diner Dash games. Since the gameplay doesn't change, there is no need for long introductory levels and I am grateful that one is able to skip the tutorial.
I do have to agree that for the players who meet Flo for the first time, this version might get a bit too hard to quickly, and recommend some of the previous versions first.
The sounds are nice, typical Diner Dash-y. What I would like to hear is some voice-acting. Most of the really good new games have voice actors for their characters, and I think that a series like Diner Dash could use that too.
Diner Dash series is wonderful, and I always recommend it, but there is way too little change between the "episodes". All that changes is the setting, and sometimes the graphics, but the gameplay and features are almost identical in all versions of Diner Dash.
My wish is for the next games in this series (because I doubt this will be the last one, taken into consideration how many DD games we already have) to bring more change into the game, neater graphics, new features - anything to make it look more fresh. Otherwise, even fans like myself might get bored soon. |
