Another Diamond in the rough.

In the past 2 weeks, I have been amazed at the quality and diversity of the games posted here.
And now Reflexive has added one of their own Masterpieces to the mix.
The Great Tree at first glance is a game aimed at Women and Children. But after playing it, I have to say, as a man, that I was thoroughly impressed!
The game is simple to understand.
You are a fairie, and must collect pollen with your ponytail and then when your ponytail is full (between 10-18 pollens, depending on the level) you have to deposit the pollen in the glowing receptacle at the top. In the meantime, you are dodging bees, wasps, and creatures I cant even describe. You control the fairie with your mouse ONLY.
When you fill up with pollen, and make the deposit, you are rewarded with power-ups that include lightning to make the enemy dissapear, or ice-freeze that freezes the enemy temporarily, and a number of other power-ups designed to help you through the game.
The learning curve is easy and you are up and playing in no time.
The story is a tiny bit weak, but the gameplay is outstanding.
The music is very relaxing and doesnt distract you (I swear that I thought I heard strains of the Moody Blues "Nights in White Satin"!).
And the graphics are breathtaking.
It IS kinda creepy to see a tree with eyes follow you, and when you get too close to his mouth, he tries to suck you in. Sometimes successfully.

All in all, The Great Tree can be played by any sex, young or old.
Its not that hard, and it is a totally different game than any I have ever played.
Stop reading this-----go download the trial, then get your credit card out, because The Great Tree is a MUST HAVE!

Now excuse me while I go beat level 71!!

Aerial Antics is a breath of Fresh Air!

I am an avid Reflexive fan.
I visit everyday to try to find a game that is challenging, different, and unique.
I am sometimes (but rarely) dissapointed in some of the re-done games. The Match 3 games. The Jewel games, and the Zuma-type games are abundant here at Reflexive.
But once in awhile, a gem pops up!
Aerial Antics is that gem.

I was surprised to see the small file size (17MB), and thought, "Oh Jeez. How good can a game be that is only 17MB?"

I loaded the Demo, and was instantly hooked.
The visuals are breath-taking.
The sound/music was a TINY bit annoying, but can be turned off.
And the controls were spot-on!

The premise of the game is simple.
You have a jet-pack, and must manuever/fly through rings, canyons, etc.
While I love the control of the game (W,A,S,D and Mouse), I was a little dissapointed that you could not bind the controls to your own customization. But. Thats a tiny annoyance once the game starts.
It takes only a few minutes to get used to the controls.
Once you are flying, the learning curve is short, and you are advancing through the levels that grow increasingly harder.
Once you pass through Central Park, you come to the Canyons.
One level in particular had me trying it a few times.
You have to fly and push yourself into a large blue ball and manuever it through the rings.
I can't tell you the feeling of accomplishment once you get the hang of this game!
With 50 levels of flying, this game is an awesome value, and I will be purchasing it TONIGHT!
