Cave Days - Humor, Adventure, & Action in One
If you have a sense of humor, a longing for adventure, or just want to get in on some of the action, Cave Days is for you.
It does remind one of the old days when Super Mario Brothers was hot. It has some of the same aspects... tunnels, platforms, lava shooting up, breakaway platforms, vine climbing, and of course the water areas to name a few.
The cut scenes are humorous enough to watch and have a way of leading you into your goal for the levels ahead.
The music, albeit repetitive goes along with the genre. Some will turn it off, while people like me kept it on because it just "fits" with the game play. (And I like the caveman voices).
Graphics are a bit old style ... as with side-scrollers it is a 2 dimensional thing. If your computer has a tendency to lag, it will. My computer lagged a few times, but not enough to make me want to shut the game off.
The levels have goals, getting through and getting all the fruits are the main goals, but then they spice it up abit. Hunt and bring dinosaurs back to your cave (man cannot live on fruit alone ha ha). Find this or that for a character, Race another character, Help a elderly woman or a man with (well he's not blind so I'll just say) a vision impairment get somewhere safely, find Sneako (under rocks you can pick up), mark your territory (graffiti cave-man style), defeat a T-Rex, play as a sheep dino, or a runner dino trying to get through to the next area safely.
There is just so much about this game I love, and I haven't even mentioned the wind tunnels or the geysers or the non-man eating plants.... having to skillfully throw stones or dinos around ... I just had fun.
I don't play alot of this genre anymore, but it brought me back and considering this game was a gift from a friend, well it was long overdue. |

Granted there are grammer mistakes...
I'd like to say "C'mon" to the people who reviewed this game before me.
As far as the puzzles themselves go and the way it walks you through, it's great for a younger person or somebody new to the genre to get the gist of the game. So yeah it kind of holds your hand, yet it's not a strict "seek & find" without mixing in puzzles, which by the way, you are able to "skip" through if you don't want to do them or you deem them a bit to hard.
I love puzzles... in fact, I grew tired of seek and finds a while ago and only play them now for the variety of puzzles in them.
This game has a variety of puzzles to do. No penalty for taking forever, or at least not that I saw.
Sound, is okay ~ nothing to rave over, but not loud and annoying. Though I keep speakers on low as to not wake up my roommate when I play such games.
Thanks for this game, and I hope to see more! |

Part 1 of an interesting story...
Yes, hidden pictures .... find the difference ...
But then there's the plot. Well, not just that but the pictures are ART so you have to enjoy that.
This is one of the few hidden picture games that does take away points for EACH wrong click .... which it gives you a count at the end. I wish the list didn't stay short as I find stuff and then have to wait for them to show up on the list....but everything wrong in the picture goes before the level is up.
Music ... a bit repetitive??? Well... yeah, but we all have our complaints on music don't we LOL. This music is a bit like the trek or discovery soundtrack on a movie.... That's my take anyhow...
If you like hidden picture games, you can't go wrong with this one, I just want to play the other part as it ends with.... TO BE CONTINUED. |

Most Definately The Game You've Been Looking For!
This game has it all! Variety, quests, survival, puzzles... I can only wish they made more games like this!!
My friend bought it and I played it on his computer, I have to tell you, it is most definately a keeper!
You can change names when they first show up...
You can delete buildings you made by clicking on the building then clicking on the red X that shows up...
Find the radio pieces and fulfill the Tiki man's requests... sometimes for more buildings ... sometimes for a game to play ... sometimes for supplies or increases in your population.
The sound (I turned the music off... but the game has different sound effects for each thing that you do.... (fishing, hunting, picking bananas, chopping wood, building, eating, drinking, finished with building, and no more wood/food) I found these sound effects to be helpful.
I definately did not tire of this game!!!
Try it... what could it hurt? |

Dr. Daisy Pet Vet is in the Doghouse ...
Where I like alot of games in this style, this game is not as good as I was hoping it would be. First off, I go to click on one thing but apparently I didn't click on it, or I clicked on something close to it. That made gameplay hard. Second, while this game does offer multiple clicks, it doesn't offer taking it back or little check marks to see where you already clicked. Thirdly, I am someone who loves to try for the Expert score and I'll replay a level until I get that Expert score... well I didn't find a way to do so in this Demo of the game.
This game has some good points. The malady's that the animals go through are hilarious (if you like punny puns... lol). You can choose one of 5 languages so that makes a difference (even though I only speak/read English... it makes the game available to a wider audience). I wish the upgrades were a little better ... but don't we all lol.
I guess I'd suggest sticking to the trial to see if you like it, then if you aren't like me and sitting around frustrated because you lost this animal or that animal and you were either in the middle of helping them or trying to get them a treat but somehow clicked on something else instead... buy it.
I just don't like the frustration, I might put up with some of it if you could replay the level, but that wasn't an option unless you didn't meet your goal.
Good luck, have fun ... hope you fare better than me. |
