Virtual Farm

Plowing, tilling, watering, going to the market, adding fodder/crops for the livestock are the only tasks in the game. Once in awhile you get contracts where you have to deliver a certain amount of produce or item from your production buildings like milk, but that's the only variety. The graphics are nice, the sound isn't anything spectacular, it's what you'd expect for this kind of game, cows go moo while a repetitive tune plays in the background. This game isn't bad per se, it's just that other games like this are much better and usually have some sort of objective.

I liked the game up to the point where I discovered I cannot add all the support buildings, I lost interest; mainly because you need all these to complete the contracts.

I had fun with the game otherwise.

Virtual Farm

So I like the concept of the game. It's a mixture of Ranch Rush, Alice Greenfingers & it is clearly made by the same people who brought us Farm Frenzy. I really like the graphics, and I like that you can reap your harvest and process them to make various products.

What I DON'T like is the fact that only 6 plants can be up at a time. And when you demolish one, you get back NO money whatsoever. Not even half of the amount you made to get it. That is ridiculous. OK, so I don't mind rotating plants...but that just gets people frustrated. So I eventually decided to stick with the cowshed-churn-cheese dairy chain and only fill orders comin through based on that...but then, because of the plot (which is similar to Alice Greenfingers) I LOST about 3 of my plants that I paid good money for. Some of which had been upgraded. I was mad. This has happened to me twice. With this game, it's very hard to earn a substantial amount of money as in Alice Greenfingers, so every penny counts...and the market isn't favourable either. You barely get any money from the market. I only resort to selling on the market when I want to free up some space for more products.

While you try to run a farm, your silly character is feuding with some idiot and basically neglecting his duties. So, apart from that person sabotaging your farms, the owner is also losing money! This is so frustrating. I worked really hard for that money!

I also find it ridiculous that we have to make a downpayment on an order. Yes, I know, it adds a little something to the gameplay and makes it harder but, in some cases, your payment may only be 50 more than you had spent. For example, your deposit is 250, but you don't have all the plants necessary to get the job done. So you have to take into consideration the cost of buying plant. And once you do. You don't make much of a profit.

Solutions :
i)Make processing plants surface area smaller, so more can fit
ii)Allow a refund when a plant is demolished.

Tips & Tricks for 'Virtual Farm':

When selling to the market, instead of putting a big bulk of a finished product (which you might need for an order)in, put in 1-by-1. And every time the product is bought and the market number goes back to 0, put in another 1. That way, when market demand takes a plunge, you wouldn't have 20 of that product cooped up waiting for another big boost in demand when it could have been used to help you complete an order.

Well, this is an obvious one. When you receive an order that you think you can do, don't accept it right away. Wait until it is about to disappear (unless of course you already have the necessary amount of products to complete the order) That way, it will give you extra time, in addition to the time allotted in which to complete the order.

For example, if I get an order to make 30 bottles of milk in 4 mins and I have 12, I can let the order linger until it starts to flash. So, by the time I do accept it and pay my deposit, I have about 10 more to do within the 4 mins; which is very doable (if you upgrade) If I would have accepted right away, I may not have finished and would have lost my deposit money. And if I had let the order pass me by, I would have missed an opportunity to make some money. So it is important to wait.

And if you are not quite sure if you can complete an order, just keep making the products and by the time the letter starts to flash, you can determine whether you can complete it for sure. The important thing in this idea is not to waste money on a deposit for something you are not going to complete. (Plus, not completing an order messes your strike of completing tasks in a row)

If you are like me, and plant in columns or rows of 4, and you get an order for 8 of something, then this tip might come in handy.
