once you finish a level that allows you to use a fishing pole, and/or shovel - you should be able to purchase it on that same island. If you leave your game running for a few hours, after purchasing the shovel and/or fishing pole, you'll come back, and the monkeys will have gone fishing and digging while you were away, finding treasure (sand dollars), reeling in fish, and items you can sell like colored bottles, and shells. ...if you are on that island and are looking for a lot of sand dollers put like between 4-7 shovels and like kalimont's tip stay there for a while like between 1-3 hours and when you have your amont you wanted dont sell the shovels keep them there for the rest of the game
