Triptych

Triptych is a fast-paced puzzler that may seem familiar, but there is one major twist - the gameboard is a living entity where the blocks obey the laws of physics! As blocks are destroyed, connected blocks are freed to move independently and will move and fall to fill the empty spaces. Every game is a unique and interesting experience!

Triptych shows originality with squishy blocks

On first glance Triptych looks like tetris. It is played with keyboard arrows and keys to rotate the objects (letters a and d). The blocks are in groups of threes in either a straight line or at a corner. The demo version allows you to reach level 4 and then you must start over. High scores are disabled in the trial version. Once you get the hang of it, you can make the blocks land to form groups of three. Trios become energized. You have a few seconds to move the blocks around after they land. You can use the block that last fell to move or squish other blocks into groups of three. Any other blocks you touch after your block is energized will disappear from the pile. If you put a little thought into it, you can make the blocks that are left after groups disappear settle to form more groups of threes. That will increase your scores and bonuses. So you have about 3 -5 seconds to pick off groups of blocks.

The blocks move sort of like jello or inflatable furniture. If you look close the texture on the blocks are actually faces that grimace when you squish them or land on them. Remember to take a quick run through the tutorial which is about 30 seconds long to get all the key choices and instructions. There is a joystick option also. If you have a game pad controller that came that came with a program disk them you can configure the your game driver to include your keyboard games with your game pad. Triptych is definitely different.
