Now THIS one got me hooked!

I've tried to play a couple of the Tradewnds series before and never got further than the demo, however this one has changed it for me. It is MUCH more playable, IF you want things a bit easier.

GOOD BITS: The whole darn thang. It is sooo much easier to play than previous efforts, and for those who don't like it there is the changing ability option. The dialogue is just brilliant, it tries to be funny and it pulls it off very well, I loved it. The character options, you start off with 4 to choose from, and after the first one get 2 more. So basically you're getting 6 different story games in one. And praise... someone... that the combat is easier and much more managable. Sorry to disagree with those who liked it in previous games but it was too much for me in those. The graphics too are very impressive.

BAD BITS: The travelling! As someone else has pointed out, in revious games you could get to places much quicker, and here you're basically slogging a line from east to west all the time through lots of cities. Not so good.
While I liked the new combat, I agree that you could possibly have a bit more control. Being able to choose your archers target is fine and good but a couple more options wouldn't have hurt for variety. A few more items for trading would have ben good too.

VERDICT: This one is a winner for me and I will buy when I have more time to play. I personally like that it's a little more simplified, so as a hint i'd make your judgement on difficult you want it to be bearing in mind you can change ability settings. I'm all for this, so I can only recommend to at least demo it :-)

Absolutly amazing. No doubt about it.

After playing both Tradewinds legends and Tradewinds 2, I think I can say that this is the best of them.
When I first saw tradewinds legends I thought 'meh, this would be another boring game of "try to make money" games'. But after the trial version of it I just fell in love with the game. I immediatly dowonloaded Tradewinds 2 and finished the game before I could even tell. I loved it so much that I just HAD to buy both of them, so i did. Now that Tradewinds Caravans has been released, I can finnaly extend my little moments of joy playing this game.

GRAPHICS: Just like tradewinds 2, splendid. High details [even on the Low graphic level], smooth buffering and no interruptions during the loading scenes, it took less than a few seconds to load the game!

SOUNDS: As a musician, I have to say that these are for sure some of the best tracks I have EVER heard. Great use of eastern music, fits right to the game.

GAMEPLAY: Easy controls and an everything-in-sight screen which allows to react faster to some comabts and quests. Though the combats here are not as good as in the other Tradewinds, this is also great.

No more to add. Absolutly one of the most amazing games ever created.

Completely new...and completely different.

Like every other fan of the Tradewinds series, my eyes went wide when I saw this. 'Wow, another Tradewinds!'

And while this game was well-done, it just wasn't exactly my cup of tea. I know its a well made game, but its just so different.

Let's start with the good stuff. For one the storylines have been improved. Drastically. You'll find lots of humorous dialogue along the way, and while the story for each character doesn't make much sense, you still feel like following it along anyways.

The combat was...well? Different. Upon seeing a somewhat Real-Time Strategy look, I was expecting it to be much more complex. The graphics of the game, overall however, have been boosted up greatly.

So what didn't I like about it?
The combat, for starters. While everything LOOKS as if it can be controlled, it can't. You can direct who your ranged units are shooting at, and when to retreat, but that's about it. Pretty much once you have a big bunch of elite archers and a few siege elephants, you're guaranteed a win.

The trading, as well, leaves much to be desired. In the earlier Tradewinds, I found myself struggling to make sure I had the best prices to make the most profit. Now? I don't even bother. With every successful round of combat, I get dozens of rich stuff to trade...all for free. About 1 hour into the game I had completely given up trading entirely, and only had caravan units for carrying plunder.

The game has a lot of potential, and could very well attract some new players. But for me, somehow, this Tradewinds was just different...a little bit too different.

most of the storylines aren't based very much on trading or time so once you get a good chance to do some fast trades ( on another note each storyline has different prices on different things) and make alot of money to support your travels. I finished one story like in around 23 years and had around 6.7 million within 7 years of work( around 10 min with Quick Travel) just also note that selling goods that are not sold in the city gives more money
