Fantastic sequel with many improvements.

Graphics
Treasures Of Montezuma 2 features some of the best visuals of any match-3 game to date, the only game that is on par from what I have experienced would be Bejeweled Twist. Treasures 2 also features many small improvements to the visuals compared to the first game. One of the problems I had with the first was that the orange and yellow token colors looked similar at a glance. The token colors of the sequel seem to be much brighter on the board which makes it easier to not get confused when your matching fast trying to make the best time possible. Also the new town upgrade screen is really nice and much better than the original upgrade screen.

Sound
The background music is your usual fare and the explosions sound satisfying when the board turns to chaos. Overall the game sounds like the first Treasures of Montezuma and like the first the sounds are very solid for this type of game.

Gameplay
The game plays much like the first Treasures Of Montezuma with one big exception, in normal mode the timer acts as a bonus instead of a death clock like the original. While not yet finished with normal I believe that the hard and expert modes the timer may come into play although the developers no longer force the timer onto the player which from reading the reviews of part one the timer did turnoff a portion of people who may have otherwise loved the original.

The timer hand goes around twice. The faster you complete the level the more coins you can spend upgrading your various powerups. You still want to get the best time for the most coins although like above your not punished severely for not making a great time.

Overall
If you enjoyed the challenge of the original Treasures Of Montezuma you will probably enjoy this one since you can play the hard/expert modes for your optimal level of enjoyment. If you loved everything about the original except for the timer being the deal breaker than I recommend you give the sequel a try.

Treasures of Montezuma 2

I liked playing this game so I played it for the first time. I like match em ups so I found this one and I liked playing it. This one was one of the best games I played and the biggest of the two games

The first stays the best...

I really was excited to see there is a sequel. But I have to say, I don't think it has improved. What I don't like is the fact that you can't decide wheater you want to use a power upgrade or want to improve one you've already purchased. Furthermore there are bugs in the game. That means it happens very oft that the totem that comes forward isn't the one you were playing. For example: You play grey and the orange one comes forward, You play red and the blue one comes forward and so on. I did experience this by part one too, but in part two it is worse.
