A lot of very fun Match-3 variations in the game. It neat the way you get to play a different version of Match-3 through each level.
The music is really well done. Graphics look really nice. Each scene is well done and helps to create some variation in locations.
If you like Match-3 you should give this one a shot. |

A lot worse than most match three's
This game would be an example of how not to make a match 3 game. There are a number of problems with this game. First of all, the graphics are really sub par, nothing looks good at all. Second, and most importantly to me,the mouse is really "floaty", making it hard to target the objects, and there is no option to turn it down a notch. The music is kinda annoying as well. Overall, I really didnt find anything fun about this one. If you like match three games, look elsewhere, because this one is not for you. |

UMM... WOW??
I really didn't expect much from this game, but the outcome of this 60 minute trial left me pleasantly surprised. Contrary to others, I would rate this as one of the more "quality" match-3s here.
Let's just get it out of the way, though: the graphics could really use some polishing up, and so could the sound. However, the game's got it where it counts: good programming and simple gameplay.
The game plays in three alternating modes: Match 3, Swap 4, and Swap 4 Charge-up. At first, this might seem a bit annoying that the game doesn't really settle on any particular style, but after further play, you realize that this is actually what makes the game fun. Furthermore, Swap-4 Charge-up was a pretty daring exercise in programming -- it could have sucked.
Where other companies would spawn 4 or 5 different games to tackle everything they want to try (scenarios, themes, play styles), The Lost Treasures of Alexandria bets on GOOD PROGRAMMING with very little restrictions and gets a lot done. This is especially apparent when playing a "Clean the Board" level, where the game will feed you any missing pearls, and also continue to function in an otherwise deteriorating game grid.
Though I CAN understand while some would pass this one up, I would say that this is a good game to play if you liked Age of Japan 2(which not many people did). |

The lost treasures of Alexandria
I have several 3-in_a_row games and several drop and drag games. I love these kind of games and I tend to play them longer than I should. But this game is something I do not have as yet. You have to rotate a block of balls in orderto mak a matc andf this is not always very easy. I can even say it's sometimes quite difficult to get the right colours in the time you have been given to do so. I have several games on the computer, but this game I am going to buy. In my collection it's an addition. I think you should try for yourself and see if you see the difference. |

A very, VERY hard challenge for all match-3 lovers.
All kinds of variations of match-3 games are inbedded in this game, and it proves to be a real challenge for all match-3 gamers. Swap, rotate and match, with certain goals to be met before you can move on. Great!
One thing though...The game don't save when you are in the middle of a level and have to leave, and therefore you must complete a level before leaving, or else you have to begin from the beginning. Not great...
A bit of a problem, it feels, with the cursor as it not always do what you want it to do. Other than that, great gameplay.
At first the graphics seems simple, and it is a bit hard to see the different symbols, but it is just at the beginning, they are getting more crisp later on, it seems. The other graphics are nice enough and do not distract you from the game.
Sound and music fits well to the story and it is good enough to not be repetative, so much anyway.
By the way...I came to a level where I can't get further, because of the obsticles and time limit that is in the game, and now I am stuck...to bad one can't skip a level or at least get it easier. Great game otherwise. |
