Flitting about in "the Great Tree"

We recently upgraded from a notebook PC to an iMac, and the only complaint has come from my teenagers that we now have nothing to play [only work stuff ... ick!]. After browsing through Games on Apples website I came across the Great Tree of life and immediately fell in love. Not only do I love the game, but I was so happy to find Reflexive's website!!! My daughter found many games here that she's been wanting to play on the PC and everyone is happy [although now I'm elbowing for time to work on the Mac while they play away].

This game is fantastic ... almost like a fairytale version of DigDug. If you love collection games and have a mind full of imagination then this is a game you will love!

Great Tree, Great Game!

I find it hard to type beyond the word gorgeous! The graphics are, hands down, the best I've seen released on reflexive, by reflexive. So many realistic graphics inside that it, literally, creeps me out to see a mushroom man with eyes that follow me, & I wince at the thought of being eaten by a frog! The movements of the enemy are so genuine that when you’re attacked, you’re a bit dismal about it but at the same time you can’t help but be amazed at how remarkable & authentic they move.

The movements are fluid with the mouse, & so easy to control. The game's objective very simple & relaxing, but at the same time - does provide a slight challenge. If you aren't paying well enough attention, you can be eaten, poisoned or a many other things that lay in waiting. This has a very tiny touch of RPG in it as well, considering you can build your fairy's stats as you play to be healthier, stronger, or even faster.

I think the game could be a bit more challenging, on normal mode, by not having the Swee bounce around endlessly on your screen. It isn’t very difficult with not having the pressure of them "going away" before you can get to them. It’s almost too easy.

Some may grow bored of the simplicity in play style, but the few of us who get caught up in the story will continue to play & maybe set our own challenges of "how many bugs we can kill in one blast".

I, for one, found the music, game play, story line &, above all, graphics to be top of the line considering the games on the arcade market today. It kept me playing all the way to the end of the game & I loved it! You really cannot deny playing this beyond trial.

A couple of words about the music: beautiful, entrancing, relaxing, and a work of art. It’s worth buying this game just for the graphics & sound alone!

I do believe this is a game for mainly women & younger children, as men may not appreciate the idea of playing a fairy. Replay is certainly possible in this game.
