Flitting about in "the Great Tree"

We recently upgraded from a notebook PC to an iMac, and the only complaint has come from my teenagers that we now have nothing to play [only work stuff ... ick!]. After browsing through Games on Apples website I came across the Great Tree of life and immediately fell in love. Not only do I love the game, but I was so happy to find Reflexive's website!!! My daughter found many games here that she's been wanting to play on the PC and everyone is happy [although now I'm elbowing for time to work on the Mac while they play away].

This game is fantastic ... almost like a fairytale version of DigDug. If you love collection games and have a mind full of imagination then this is a game you will love!

Great Tree, Great Game!

I find it hard to type beyond the word gorgeous! The graphics are, hands down, the best I've seen released on reflexive, by reflexive. So many realistic graphics inside that it, literally, creeps me out to see a mushroom man with eyes that follow me, & I wince at the thought of being eaten by a frog! The movements of the enemy are so genuine that when you’re attacked, you’re a bit dismal about it but at the same time you can’t help but be amazed at how remarkable & authentic they move.

The movements are fluid with the mouse, & so easy to control. The game's objective very simple & relaxing, but at the same time - does provide a slight challenge. If you aren't paying well enough attention, you can be eaten, poisoned or a many other things that lay in waiting. This has a very tiny touch of RPG in it as well, considering you can build your fairy's stats as you play to be healthier, stronger, or even faster.

I think the game could be a bit more challenging, on normal mode, by not having the Swee bounce around endlessly on your screen. It isn’t very difficult with not having the pressure of them "going away" before you can get to them. It’s almost too easy.

Some may grow bored of the simplicity in play style, but the few of us who get caught up in the story will continue to play & maybe set our own challenges of "how many bugs we can kill in one blast".

I, for one, found the music, game play, story line &, above all, graphics to be top of the line considering the games on the arcade market today. It kept me playing all the way to the end of the game & I loved it! You really cannot deny playing this beyond trial.

A couple of words about the music: beautiful, entrancing, relaxing, and a work of art. It’s worth buying this game just for the graphics & sound alone!

I do believe this is a game for mainly women & younger children, as men may not appreciate the idea of playing a fairy. Replay is certainly possible in this game.

The Great Tree

My sister and I stumbled across this game and fell deeply in love with it. Carmen's voice is perfect. The only thing missing is more adventures and more swee to save. I've just had the gave about 6 days and am in the 3 session of enjoyment.

I want a message to get to the team that put this together and tell them from my, thank you.

When you have the full pollens, just click the left button so you make an ancient fire; the stronger you are, the ancient fire will be much powerful.

When you have about 15 pollens and you only need 5 more to make them full, dont get the mega-pollen to make them full, just gather the rest and get the mega-pollen; so you don't waste it.

Agility mostly depends on your agility with a mouse. I kept my agility points at 2 until 70th level when I nearly maxed out the others with no problem.

Concentrate on spending those hard earned stars on health, strength and magic in that order, trying to keep them about equal. Take advange of +points wings to make up for whatever attributes you lack at the time.

If you're taking a pounding to your health in one level, switch to the health rechargers. I don't find the luck wings all that helpful. In all the levels I used them, I only dodged about 4 or 5.

But the best wings in the game are the dragon wings. You get hit by an enemy and it casts a spell that takes out other enemies near-by. Usually that means several magic power-ups all at once. Very cool, very helpful when there's lots of bugs around.

The best power-up is the Aura Shield because it protects you from environmental baddies like the spitting ants and electric catterpillars and it lets you kill enemies whilst picking up pollen all the while. When you see it, do your best to grab it!

The best wing is DragonSoul Wing (or something like that), it creates an ancient fire-like spell when you get hit. Believe me, the fastest way to win is to collect mega-pollen.
At the beginning of the level, move into an enemy to blow up a group of them, if you are lucky, you will get a mega pollem and instantly fills up your tail. Then use ancient fire to blow up even more enemies to search for a mega pollen. If you are unlucky though, run into another enemy to blow up something else. But for this fast approach, you will need a lot of health and magic and strength, so lower your agility and max out the other three.

The best wings are in my opinion the health rechargers. You should spend your Starpoints in the following order:

1. One star at every skill
2. max. strength
3. max. agility
4. max. magic
5. max health

Because of the health recharge wings you won't need more heatlth and near the end you'll die in an instant if you make an error, regardless of your health.
