Ok, I just have a new favorite game....
Seriously, FABULOUS!!! In not a single area does this game not take an A+! If you like puzzles, TRY THIS GAME! If you don't like puzzles, give it a shot anyway!
Full review:
Gameplay: Ah, a nice, simple puzzler with a good challenge curve. Elegant gameplay that's kinda like Rocket Mania and other connect-two-points games, but with an interesting board that makes it unique. But then, they take it up a notch, with....
Variety of Gameplay: There are two ways to build your bonus meter in-game. You can sit back and build a nice LONG chain with no penalty for time. OR, you can make a short, FAST chain before your bonus meter totally empties, keeping the gold bonus they give you at the start of each round. Which means this game caters to both styles of game play, at the same time, without any switching of settings. Not easy for a puzzle game to do, and lets you change strageties in-game. I LOVE that feature.
Graphics and Sound: Sleek, cute, and consistant for both. They add to the gameplay without distracting from it. The "building" between rounds is a nice visual representation of how you're doing, using bronze, silver, or gold material depending on how well you did, and adds something contrete to your efforts.
Storyline: A puzzle game with a story! I'm officially in HEAVEN. Interesting enough for those that like that kind of thing, and easy enough to skip if you just want to play. Man, these guys keep thinking of both kinds of players, don't they??
Extras: Fast-click mini game that's useful if you're good at it, no huge loss if you don't care (Again, caters to both). Collecting bonus stars that either build points or gives you coin bonuses. Greek myth facts tucked in the bottom of win screens that are spot on, very interesting, and still kid friendly (VERY hard with the Greek myths, trust me!) and, again, easy enough to ignore if you don't care the difference between Athena and Artemis. Oh, yes, and the Hero mode to unlock. Fabulous! |

Talismania Scores
This game seemed sort of strange at first. I thought 'Oh, it's almost too easy...' Was I wrong. There is a really interesting and novel aspect to the game play that makes it unique. There's nothing quite like it. So, after several minutes of play, the whole thing began to make sense. I love mythology, and a lot of the art work is jaw-dropping without being overly serious. This game will surprise you. The graphics are very good. The sound is very easy to listen to, with those little details brought forward that make the difference between good and excellent. The game play is smooth and interfaces well. I like the fact that you can save your progress. It's also the kind of game which is fun to go and play through more than once. I recommend it highly. |

GREAT
Talismania is a great game if you'd like to play a bit to occupy your mind and relieve stress. Game play is simple, but the story (which, though admittedly silly, is also kind of clever) keeps things moving. (There's also something oddly satisfying about collecting shiny gold coins.) Every level can be beaten in a fairly short sitting, so you can progress in this game while only playing five or ten minutes at a time. I really like Talismania. |

Talismania is loads of fun
I spent hours to beef up my score, there wasn't a dull moment, the simplicity of the graphics along with the gameplay was just as I expect and I was hooked into playing it for hours before I realized how much time spent I nearly completed the game without realizing it. The hero mode proved to be very challenging and I'm still working my way through it at the moment. Definitely a addictive, eye pleasing game. |
