Stand O'Food: Made Me Hungry!
Excellent game, it wasn't too challenging, though you do get rushed off you're feet in some of the higher class restaurants, but it's all basically the same.
Each restaurant, and there are SO MANY!, has a different menu style, be it exotic, chicken, or plain old burgers, it's all good :)
At the end of each shift, you use your profit, if any, to buy upgrades, from air-conditioners, hot-plates, more plates to hold food, juke boxes to keep your customers entertained while they wait for their food, to a very expensive bottle of secret herbs & spices, as well as your every day condiments.
Upgrades go from level 1, to level 3.
The map is HUGE, and when you've finished it, you'll unlock an endless shift mode.
Stand O'Food, is a great game, because you can play it at your leisure, and not rush, it will save, and you can come back to it at any time.
The customers aren't as impatient as they are in similar game series/genre's ie: Diner Dash, so you aren't too pressured, which is how it should be.. a game is meant to be enjoyed, not made so you reach a certain point, and then are doomed not to play it again because you know you will be forever stuck on a certain level, that's no fun ;)
So folks, I highly recommend you get this game, for an endless entertaining gourmet' journey.

Even good for a 4-year-old
This is currently one of my favorite arcade-style games. I plan to buy it soon if I can. I had a blast whipping out burgers right and left, and once I got a jukebox and some plates it became less frantic and more fun.
But I'm really here to talk about my nephew, who just turned four. He's only played it once, but it stands along Sally's Salon as one of his two favorite arcade games. He took to it better than I would have thought, and with a bit of coaching I had him whipping out burgers almost as well as I could, if a bit slower. The gameplay seems well balanced for his current trackball skills, and I like how you basically don't have to read anything to do what needs to be done.
If there ever is a "kid mode" version of this game, I would suggest having the customers be a little more patient, and possibly making the graphics a little more easy to decipher. I had little to no problem figuring out what went on a burger, but my nephew needed me to point out that that little splotch of red means tomato and so forth.
At any rate, excellent game, great fun, and a pleasant way to relax for a good hour. Bravissimo! |

Stand O Food
It's like playing Cake Mania. Challenging but monotonous -- too much levels to play with. I got tired clicking the mouse. |

Challenging and fun
I liked this game a lot. There are many levels to complete and you can choose the upgrades you buy for your restaurant. The upgrades are split between items to keep your customers patient (jukebox, aircon) and extras that will add to the price of your burgers.
The most novel and challenging part is that the ingredients for the burgers are on conveyor belts, so you might have to pick up several ingredients, and place them somewhere else, before you can access the ingredient you need. This takes some planning and means you can't always complete customers in the order they arrive. In this respect it's quite like Burger Rush, but with a different gameplay style.
The graphics are cute, 2d pixel-art style. The music/sounds are fine.
The only thing that is poor is the sudden appearance of a mechanical grabber on some levels which is meant to be a "reward" and "helper" for making quick orders, but in fact confuses you and slows you down considerably. |
