Snap Ur Way To Fun

I actually downloaded the game thinking that it was a hidden object game, only the objects wud be replaced by birds instead.

But instead it was a beautiful blend of that genre with nature and photography. Taking pics of the birds with ur 35 mm n then choosing which pics to keep by using "P.E.E.P" was fun. Finding the birds n then knowing what they were was very knowledge - enhancing/ The birds themselves were very beautiful, n I thought I cud keep clicking all day.

Haven't completed the game yet ... but will do that in a couple of days more. A game worth buying.

Amazing from a bird's eye view!!!

I really liked this game. At first, I wasn't into birds, but when I played this game, it changed everything. The graphics are amazing and the music is great. I like how each assignment gets harder and you can get different tools to help you on the way! Now, when I listen and see birds in my backyard, I'll know what bird it is from playing this game!!!

Fantastically refreshing

It is always great to see some new gameplay and inventiveness in the casual market and I am always keeping my eye out for such creativity.

This game is a really refreshing and well polished variation of the old deer hunter style scroll and click. Where deer hunter failed to deliver much in terms of variety or skill in working the mouse, Snapshot provides many avenues for skill, growth, and still maintains the pleasant and peaceful feel of sitting in the woods and taking "shots" at things.

They included some of the later features as well such as equipment that requires you to make decisions before each session. And the functionality of those items is much more creative than those you would find in the old Deer Hunter games.

The end of session photo selection process adds even more complexity and depth to an otherwise simple game allowing you to learn by experience how best to take your shots and crank up your ratings. It turns the gameplay from a simple point and click challenge into a more involving "quality of click" expression of skill.

As you discover all the little details that were added and the hundreds of unique birds, complete with their actual birdcalls, you will really come to appreciate the design and effort that went into it. Add to that the ability to create your own unique birds and track their photographic prevalence on the internet of other owners, and this is an amazingly fresh and creative product.

All in all this is definately a pleasant and well polished game well worth the money. Any bird or wildlife enthusiast will appreciate it, and any casual gamer will love it.

the stop watch is the best tool. just click it when your subject [bird] is doing what the mission says and you'll be able to take multiple [1-6] pictures of the bird while it's frozen.

How to get a 3 star & above picture
The get a 3 star and above picture, your subject (the bird) must be in the centre of your camera frame and close enough to see the features. A great one would involve some activity on the part of the bird, the best example is flying. If you're capturing a bird in flying motion, the best angle is the side of the bird, tilted and with the wing span clearly seen. This would involve a zoom lense, a cup of coffee and also the pocket watch which slows down the time. In fact that kind of picture will get you 4 stars and above.

How to capture a bird in a stationary position
To get a picture of a bird in stationary position and yet good enough for 3 star and above, the best possible way which would not waste your coffee or the stop watch or the allocated number of shots allowed would be to use the seeds. Get ready with your zoom lense, zoom it first to desired proximity, feed the seeds to the bird you wish to photograph and immediately take the picture with the bird in the centre of your frame. The time frame between the feeding and the capture of that frame is no more than 5 seconds so you must make sure everything is in order and ready before feeding the bird. A close proximity of such a shot with the bird's head tilting by the side and its side facing the camera would get you a 3 star and above. A full frontal face shot of the bird I realise is not very effective for points, it's the slightly by the side shot that is the best. Don't worry about the symbol on top of the bird which indicates it is feeding. You can just snap the picture since that indication is merely telling you the bird is feeding.

When to use the stopwatch and coffee
The coffee should only be used when taking a picture of a bird in motion, such as flying. But to take a picture of a bird that is in motion and is fast, the stopwatch is the ideal tool although the effect, like the coffee wears off much too fast. So plan your shots whilst be wary of the overall timer for your current assignment and the allocated shots.

Before going to the assignment, always check for the time. If it is night, remember to add the night lens. Stopwatch is a must for all assignment as it is REALLY great when taking a photo of a bird in flight. Superb effect.

Zoom lens wise, 4x lens are already good enough. 7x is way too much for most of the assignment. Also, look out for the types of photos you are suppose to get, if birds in flight, you will need your toy plane, if eating, get your handy bird seeds, preening: use the mirror, stationary: use your whistle to get them landing, etc.

Unless you have really sharp eyes, I suggest to bring along your bird identifier too.
