Sometimes sequels can be a good thing

In movies sequels can be a bad thing...In hidden object interactive games, it can be a good thing. Samantha Swift and the Golden Touch is just that.

If you played the first then you don't need an explanation as to how this one is played. It has the same motif: Samantha has to keep an evil doer from being able to get a treasure than can ruin the world.

This game has the same style as the first but it's just a tad longer than the first. I even like the scanner feature. You don't need to use the bolts because the scanner allows you to click on the item and will go from yellow to red(cold to hot) if you're in the right area. The mini games are great too. They're challenging but not to the point where it leaves you stumped or having the need to search for clues as to how to solve the puzzles.

Game developers are getting the right idea on how to step up the hidden object game motif. Just looking for items in a room doesn't do it for me anymore and I'm pretty sure it's the same for other hidden object fans.

Samantha Smith is great...What would be golden if a part three is in the near future.

Awesome!

I'm a fan of hidden object games, but Samantha's both games have literally stolen my heart. I can't help myself from creating a new profile and play them over and over again.

Where is the third adventure of Samantha?????

Nice sequel

I've had great fun playing Samantha Swift (the first one) so I was delighted the second I knew they have released a sequel.

However, for some reason I think I enjoyed the first one a bit more. Although this is not bad at all. You get to find more items - way more items than the first one. The bolt hints become almost useless in this sequel since the PDA indicates how far your cursor is from the selected/required item all the time for free, which bugs me a little because there was less challenge. Still, bolts can be used when you are stuck in minigames, which usually weren't too hard. The gameplay is decent.

The graphics were pretty okay. Somehow they look cartoony and realistic 3D at the same time. The graphics of cutscenes between locations are simple, not as gorgeous as the main menu display, but it's good. Items were drawn nicely so it wasn't impossible to find something, even without hints.

I must say, the sound effect of when you find a key diamond/jewel thing, was pretty epic. It did a great job on making players feel a great accomplishment.

In conclusion, I like this sequel almost as much as I do the first one. If you haven't played Samantha Swift yet, I suggest you play it first, before playing Samantha Swift and the Golden Touch, the sequel. If you have played the first one, this is a sequel you probably shouldn't miss.

p.s. They even included my country as one of the locations too, but the traditional costumes were incorrect. I can't blame them though. :)
