Two Thumbs Up!

Ranch Rush caught my eye as soon as I saw the screenshots and I was not disappointed in the least!

Starting with crisp, clean graphics and smooth gameplay, this game will definitely appeal to anyone who loves games such as Diner Dash or Alice Greenfingers. In fact, my wife described it as Diner Dash meets Harvestmoon!

The game progression is good with an easy-to-follow tutorial and difficulty that increases gradually - just enough to keep you on your toes without being too taxing.

Sound and music are really quite secondary in a game like this but the sound effects are of good quality to provide ambience without detracting from the main attraction, which is of course the gameplay!

To summarise, Ranch Rush is a game that will catch and keep the attention of any fan of the "Dash"-type games for a very long time!

Ranch Rush

The first moment I saw this game, I thought: "Oh, no. Another dash game." Because lately Reflexive has put so many such games up for download.

But since I am a fan of dash games, I downloaded this one as well. And I was pleasantly surprised!

I was amused by the cute story telling, the voice actress that was picked for the main character was a great choice.

The graphics are absolutely adorable, and not all that 3D-ish, which is a plus, since I generally dislike the use of 3D for such games.

The gameplay is pretty typical, but it doesn't make you feel bored. The game is fairly fast, so you don't spend time staring at the screen waiting for the character to move, like in some recent games.

The upgrades are also a nice touch and well balanced, from what I could tell so far.

All in all, I highly recommend this to people who liked games like Diner Dash, Sally's Spa, Sally's Salon, Delicious Deluxe, Cake Mania and the other games of the genre.

You won't regret downloading and buying this one!

Tips & Tricks for 'Ranch Rush':

Each machine can hold a maximum of 3 types of one ingredient in standing. According to the ratio of ingredients, you will be able to maximize on your productivity on a following day once you set up the day before.

1) Plan ahead (money won't be a problem) by making sure your farm is well stocked for the next day (especially before Farmer's Market). Make sure produce that can be stacked is full (like milk, ketchup etc) before completing last order.

2) Get multiples of animals/machines to increase production capacity. Bee hives take up little space but honey sells for $500 at farmers market!

3) The move button is your friend! Use it to micromanage your farm - move crops that need watering/replanting nearer to the well/seeds so that you don't have to move as far. Later on with the sprinkler, have one sprinkler in one place and move the crops needing watering to the sprinkler as they become 'thirsty'. This way you only need one and you save space!

Build the bee hives further away from pink flowers they pollinate. When they have to travel out further to get to them you're less likely to get stung.

TELEPORT TRICK - Exploit the MOVE button!
You can instantly transport yourself anywhere in the ranch by clicking an item (equipment such as: crates, well, shears, toolkit, bug spray, etc.) then using the MOVE button on the chosen item. You will find yourself "moved" with the item that you wish to transport.

Feel free to move the barn around (since you cannot use the teleport trick with it) near the crops that you are harvesting.

It may take a while to get used to this trick but why run when you can teleport?

Demand-harvest Ratio
Money is hardly a problem in this game. I personally recommend that you allocate 1 plot for every 2 items in demand. (i.e. for mid-levels, demand for the day: 20tomatoes, allocate at least 10 tomato plots, but not more than 20 plots as these tomatoes can regenerate quickly or more time can be spent harvesting other crops)

KEEP THE CROPS BY THE ANIMAL THAT USES IT, EASIER TO TRANSFER THAT WAY, USE TWO CRATES, AND BUY ALL THE WATER SYSTEMS WHEN THEY COME AVAILABLE. KEEP PLANTING THE PLANTS THAT TAKE LONGER TO GROW, AND PLAN AHEAD FOR THE NEXT ROUND

When I have spare time (i.e. if I'm almost done when there is a significant amount of time left) I usually prepare things like wool and so on...especially before Market Day. It really doesn't matter how much bonus money you get. You will be able to afford everything. You don't have to scrunt for money. So sacrifice that money for some smart playing. So, go ahead and prepare 3 of everything. That's the amount up to which you can stack things. Market day is only 1 min and 30 secs. You don't have time to wait for a stupid sheep to eat, then to trim it. And you may also what to patch up everything in your garden. Make sure all the plants are planted or whatever.

And don't forget, even while the machine is working, you can put in extra ingredients. For e.g you can put in 3 extra tomatoes while the machine is working. Once the 1st batch is finished, the 2nd batch would start. However, if you only put in 2, then it will wait for you to put in a next one. The same applies to the machines that use various ingredients

The last level is the hardest. Make sure you have all the basics like milk, wool and eggs. Leave it next to the animals. The can store 3 items. Try to feed them as much as you can during the game so you can't run out of milk, wool and eggs.

After week 7 I try not to put the harder stuff to get into the market, as it makes little difference on the cash side of things. It is very hard to finish week 8. I also try to put 3 of each item in the barn.
