Plant Tycoon - Dream Game
This game is the one. I've tried villagers 1&2, the food chains, salons and hotels, but nothing comes close to plant tycoon. It rally makes you attached to the game. I started to play it last week and I bought it right away. It was so exciting to play, especially when a pop up message tells you that you found a magic plant, so far, I've only raised 3 magic plants and I am out of money. I want to buy the soil upgrade from Isola, the gold one, for my special seeds. I'm just populating my popular plants and selling them for $67 to save money. I can't wait!
Pros: Great soothing music, game play - 5 star, graphics is great, game time - not repetitive and boring like others.
Cons: In the nursery where you sell your plants, the customers are very slow, and I just wish I can still sell plants even if I'm not in the nursery.
But all in all, perfect game. This is my first time to give review to a game because I was really impressed with this game, and so to conclude my blabbering, I recommend it to everyone. Buy the game and play it now, then you'll know what I mean. |

This is not Virtual Villagers, and thank you for that!
I have played Virtual Villagers 1 & 2 & didn't like it, because there is a better game which objectifies controlling the lives of your sims and that is The Sims 2. Plant Tycoon goes on the same basis only in so far as the real time playing, and it is more similar to Fish Tycoon than Virtual Villagers. The object is simple; breed flowers and hopefully stumble across the 6 fabled flowers of Isola. But there is no cheet sheet, so you have to earn every dime to upgrade the soil, the water and even the tools. Along the way you have to catch some bugs to add to your growing bug collection, the duplicates of which are sold for money. The duplicate seeds may also be sold, if you have no storage space left. But it is not as easy as it sounds. Like in all starter business, earning enough to upgrade the soil is really difficult, more so when you have to buy vitamins, plant rescue formulas as well as ornaments to add to your garden shop, just so to attract buyers. And what picky buyers you have, all with symbols above their heads to which the game developers have forgotten to include a legend for us players. But never mind, you will understand some symbols. You may feel frustrated at first, especially with trying to upgrade the soil which is expensive but just a tip; start simple. All basis of a business begins with the simplest product and in this game, the cactus at $20 a pot does in the end help to buy you the upgrades. Don't sell cheap, and don't sell expensive either. The pricing of a plant is like a lesson in business. I learned a lot from this game, and after so many hours playing it, it is still interesting because I'm obssessed in finding those fabled plants and upgrading the soil. Oh yes, if there is an upgrade you will need, make the soil your first priority, then the extra seed storage and then the water. The scissors, not that important. But the gameplay depends on you. The graphics are beautiful, music soothing but the best? The longevity of the game. Excellent! |

This game should be The Game Of The Year!!!
I absolutely, definitive adore and love Plant Tycoon!!
With the connection to Virtual Villagers 1&2, this game makes it an exciting mixture of growing and nursing plants, and selling them! But that is not all, you upgrade your tools and soil, make cross-pollinations and get new exciting plants, and the search for 6 magical plants begin!
The graphics are similar to VV and so are the figures that come to shop for your plants, with some interesting improvements, are just so nice!
Music are relaxing and the sound are brought from VV and fits perfectly to the game, and gameplay are great!
You really have to be patient to play this one, but it's all worth it! |

Another slow game for a relaxing day!
Searching for any news of Virtual Villagers 3, I was so pleased to stumble on this game the day it was released! Plant Tycoon brings a little bit of Isola (of VV and VV2 fame) back to the civilized world.
The game revolves around the plants of Isola, which you must nurture, pollinate and sell in your ever-improving nursery. As you collect seeds, you cross-pollinate to discover new species, always in search of the six lost magic plants of Isola.
Upgrading your equipment allows you to grow more delicate and valuable species, which in turn allows you to collect a greater variety of increasingly rare insects to add to your display. You can play a game of chance and see what you might stumble upon, or keep meticulous records in an attempt to discover all 500+ different plant species! As your plants are growing, you strive to keep them healthy with a range of fertilizers and plant food, insecticide and even secateurs to remove unsightly dead bits.
When plants are fully grown and seeds harvested, you can adjust the prices on each species before taking them to your nursery, where you sit back and - hopefully - watch them sell like hotcakes. As you improve your nursery, you attract more visitors, and as you discover magic plants, your visitors are more inclined to spend.
Plant Tycoon follows an approach similar to Virtual Villagers (I haven't played Fish Tycoon so can't compare) - you do a little work, then sit back and watch the results. The game continues while you're not at your computer, so you can plant seeds and come back later to check on them. Three game speeds (the fastest taking 40 minutes from seed to blooms) means stress-free entertainment that lasts for days!
Graphics: plant foliage and blooms are beautiful; people are similar to the awkward-looking Isola castaways.
Sound: so soothing, I'd leave the game open while not playing just to hear it!
Overall: very relaxing, stress-free. Definitely worth the money! |
