GREAT

THIS GAME IS GREAT. The story is a little spooky, but I couldn't stop playing it, until I finished it.

REALLY GREAT.

Ravenhearst: Brilliance & Eerie Elegance

I played it non-stop until it was finished.. it is by FAR, the best in the MCF series so far, and if you're a fan, you won't be disappointed, if you're not familiar with the series [Mystery Case Files: Huntsville, Mystery Case Files: Prime Suspects] give it a try, I guarantee you will be hooked within minutes.

The graphics, as usual, in the series, are superb, above and beyond par, as a lot of them have small animations in them this time around, a really nice touch, giving it a spooky ambiance.
The ghostly sound effects are out of this world, and can be a little chilling if you're playing it alone at night ;)
Puzzles, well there are a LOT, these new types are well thought out, challenging, yet do-able, and most of all, BRILLIANT, kudos to the creators for coming up with them.
If you are stuck, you are given the chance to skip the puzzle, though the creators have added an extra hint in this one, so now you have five.

I would describe MCF Ravenhearst as having an "Eerie Elegance" about itself, and I think you'll understand what I mean when you play it.. as you are filling up the pages of a missing diary, uncovering a mystery/love story gone wrong, on your hunt to find out what really happened to Emma Ravenhearst.

This is a game with true atmosphere.

One feature you might like, is you are given the opportunity to play in a relaxed mode, giving you ample time to complete the quest.

Great story, great graphics, great EVERYTHING.
I would give this 10 stars if it were possible.
The best $20 I've spent in a LONG time...

I just wonder how the creators will out-do themselves in the 4th installment, as this one is hard to beat.

Better than ever!

The 3rd instalment to the MCF editions is finally out!
And its back better than ever. Now you play the role of a detective assigned by the Queen of England (seriously) to investigate an old run down manor where a ripped up diary belonging to a young American girl, Emma, had been found containing nothing but the first entry . She dissapeared mysteriously a number of years ago, and it is your task to search the manor for the missing pieces of her diary to provide clues as to what happened to her.

You will perform the usual task of seeking out the listed hidden objects within a specified period of time (although you are given the option of undertaking the task at your own pace if you wish). The new addition to the game is a number of elaborate locks to certain rooms in the manor which you must crack before you can gain access to the room and search for the clues inside. Beware these are not like any locks you have seen and can make you very frustrated! However do not fear, as if you find yourself unable to crack the lock, you may give up all your hints in exchange for the lock to be cracked for you.

Some players may find for the storyline here quite cliched, especially the ending, but for me I found it quite enthralling. The sound effects added were brilliant because they added to the atmosphere, and fit well with the storyline that unfolds as you uncover the missing diary pieces. In addition, some of the clues you are asked to find, or the objects seen lying about the house added to the creepy atmosphere of the house and leaves you wondering what had happened to poor Emma.

Overall I thought this was the best edition of MCF yet, as all the elements of the game - the storyline, the clues you are asked to find, the sound, the music - all fit together cohesively unlike the previous versions. So kudos game developers for topping yourselves with each edition!!

Circumventing the timer:

When you are going to put together the jigsaw puzzle at the end of a level and you are short on time (say you only have 3 minutes left) get as many pieces in the center as you can. Then when the "Two Minute Warning" box pops up don't click "OK" right away because you can place pieces around the outside of the box while the game is paused. Then click the "OK" and use the remaining 2 minutes to place any center pieces you have left.

This game is awesome and many puzzles to solve

as you find the hidden objects in each room and meet with puzzles they are all great

the final puzzle is about time, memory and you need time at the end for a final puzzle, hope you understand that

so the last puzzle you have to find 7 keys
this level is random not all rooms will show, and not all keys will show( every room has a key in it)
I managed to track down enough rooms and keys so you know where to look, and save some time

not everyroom is listed and note/...... try to avoid the basement untill you have found all of the keys... the floor tabs for the basement may disapear if you find a key in the pantry for example and you need the cellar , to complet the game.

so here are the rooms and keys

Kitchen, key is on the table bottom of screen towards the left
Back yard, the key is bottom right in front of the truck
Entry, on the right hand side (near the garlic)
Front porch, the key hanging on the post left of screen
Pantry, on the neck of the cello on the right hand side
Attic, on the right, diagonal on a roof beam
Parlour, right hand side on the large statue
Taxidermy room, the key is silver it is on the table with the white cloth on it
Servant quarters, on the centre of the back wall
Garage, top right hand corner hanging down
Library, left hand side hanging over the fire place
Music room, bottom left hand corner (by the saxophone)
Storage room, left hand side on the suit of armour
Shed, top centre (it looks rusty)
Tree house, towards the right on the trunk of the tree ( by the purple rosette)
Game room, key is on the front of the cabinet almost centre screen and just left of the billiard table
Master bathroom, top right hand corner, (by the window)
Master bedroom , on the floor, bottom centre
Greenhouse, Bottom left above a pair of old boots
Wardrobe, key is on the large mirror on the right
Nursery, the key is left middle of screen by the compass

Cellar Lock
  • Step 1: There's a grid with lightbulbs, some of which are on and some off. Clicking on the bulbs turns some on and others off. Your goal is to get all the lights on. To solve, click the following lights in sequence:

    o Upper right corner
o Bottom right corner (this light will now be off)
    o Lower left corner
o The upper left light should be on, and there should be a row of four "off" lights in a diagonal row heading down to the bottom right. Click these four lights in order, starting with the topmost one. Voila! (Hint: If you find yourself in a mess, click the switch on the right to reset the grid.)
  • Step 2: Once you've lighted the entire grid, the green light bulb will go on. Turn the crank below to produce a green battery. Fit this battery into the green battery slot.
  • Step 3: The grid of lights will reset itself, but this time it's easy to solve. Click each of the four corners, then the light in the exact middle. Turn the crank to get the red battery.
  • Step 4: On the grid, click the middle light in each of the four outer rows, then the exact middle light. Turn crank for yellow battery.
  • Step 5: Click the exact middle light, then the light above it, then the light below it. Turn crank for the purple battery.
  • Step 6: Click each of the four corners, then each of the "off" lights diagonally next to each corner. Turn crank for turquoise battery.
  • Step 7: Once you've fit all the batteries in, the TV will turn on. There are three videogames that you must beat to continue. You can toggle between them by pressing the three green buttons below the screen.
  • Step 8: The first game is a Pong-inspired game. Use the crank on the right to control the paddle. You must return the ball 15 times in a row to pass.
  • Step 9: In the second game, you must keep your square in between the two lines for 35 seconds.
  • Step 10: In the third game, your goal is to collect 25 of the circular objects while avoi
