I've Found The Fountain Of Youth

Okay ... not really, but it's what we all wish for, eh? Actually this game does have a fountain of youth and SO much more. If you are a fan of the Virtual Villagers trilogy, then you'll have no problems falling in love with this game.
This game is really beautiful. There are literally Billions of islands to choose from making the replay value a wonderful addition. I'm currently on the first island, so I'm not sure what happens after I've solved the puzzles. I eagerly await finding out.
There are so many awesome features in this game. Once you've discovered the fountain of youth, you can use the correct potion to rapidly decrease the age of an elder. I really enjoy this feature because you need never die after investing so much into one character.
There are many puzzles to be solved. This game introduces Moondust and Stardust that fall from the sky and can be collected for various purposes. Finding out what they do is a fun challenge in itself. You will find yourself mixing potions that do wonderful things. I believe there are over 40 potions to work with. I keep a little notebook by me as I play as to keep track of potions and what they do. You will often see barrels and crates wash ashore. They can have nice or nasty surprises inside. Sometimes you will learn how to mix a certain potion. Sometimes the person you drop on it will increase in a certain skill. At times you will get a nasty little surprise and you'll wish that you hadn't opened the crate lol.
Once you learn how to use your items wisely, you'll find your characters ranking up in no time. The possibilities are endless.
You will earn trophies. You will have children (the right potion allows for twins!) I find the graphics to be better than Virtual Villagers. The gameplay in itself never gets old. I'm constantly checking the map screen for any surprises that may have fallen from the sky. From mushrooms to bird doo, little things are there for collecting. Five stardusts for this game! (-:

Quite a great change of pace.

Yes, it's obvious, it's like Virtual Villagers, let's just step away from that, shall we?

The most important aspect of this game to me is, that it offers something extraordinary... rewards for playing it. Yes, some other games (*cough*) allowed you to collect things for science when playing.... but this one allows you to collect potion parts, as well as special items that allow you to speed up building production, increase supplies, change the look of your tribe, and many more things. They also happen quite often, and when playing on certain islands, you can unlock the ability for them to show up, even more so.

Second thing I love about this game is the ability to move on and start over, with slight benefits. You don't get to keep everything you've worked for, such as resources, but you still get to keep other things. You can also search for islands that suit your needs.... with their "mysteries", as well as have the chance to solve 8 different puzzles in total.

Villagers can also live quite a long time, and if your island has the fountain of youth, as others have noted, you can help your gray haired villagers live even that much longer.

One of the last things I'd like to note about MyTribe, is something that is VERY important for me.... and that is the ease of controlling what your villagers do. Even as a baby, you can assign what your villager will do (such as collecting wood) and something amazing happens once they reach a certain age..... they actually harvest wood. There is no having to drag your person 20 times to something for them to be able to do it. Once you make sure you have enough villagers on every task, it's quite easy for the game to be self sufficient. Villagers can even do a number of tasks, so if you have one villager working on an art project (yes, I'm going to spoil it... making clothes for your villagers) then when he's finished, he'll also work towards another task he has been assigned (such as the wood gathering).

Mind-numbing!

I expect alot of people to think this as of a knockoff Virtual Villagers. Actually, this game has alot of potential, so much in fact that I think it distances itself from Virtual Villagers quite well. The replay is good, as there are about billions of new islands to inhabitat. All Sims and Virtual Villagers lovers will just love MyTribe.
