Fantastic Fun

If you like British humor (Sorry, that's "humour"), then you'll love Mr. Smoozle's Goes Nutso. True, you're constantly going from place to place in the game that your fingers will cramp up, but it's great fun. The characters are quirky and, like I said, I love the humor. It does get challenging at times. The game also works on Vista!

Great Comic-Puzzle!

I love games with story and this one have everything. I enjoyed in playing it, except the music, which is little irritating.
I'm not a fun of "childish" graphics, but this game have enough intriguing story, so that's why I overlooked that "minus".
About "drugs" or "naughty" language I also disagree. After all, if you're so paranoid at seeing something what's not there, send kid to do homework and just play it by yourself then, is that so hard?
And, I must say that you must be clever and have wits for this game, and we all know that underage kids, except genius, will most likely be dead at few levels. But, that's my opinion.

going nutso over mr. smoozles

Having been addicted to Dash/Time Management games which Reflexive consistently labels Action/Sim, I was surprised when the first few scenes were finally presented to me. Needless to say, I "died" about three times before finally figuring out what to do with the first scene ^^;

Then it hit me: I should play this as an RPG game, wherein you talk to stationary characters, get on sidequests, and, most importantly, think fast! An avid RPG gamer myself, I spent nearly 18 hours straight finishing this game, and when the end credits rolled, I was very much satisfied.

Not only does it have interesting gameplay and storyline, it pokes fun at other games as well. And the dialogues were amusing, to say the least. I found myself chuckling at various points during the game.

There were a few things I didn't like, though:
  • the other reviewers were right - Ed's pace was slow.
  • unlike some games, this doesn't proceed in a strictly linear fashion. sidequests can overlap, and you have to think which objective will have which end, and which must come first. in short, you will need some mind work and not robotic mouse (or keyboard) pressing.
  • because of the 2D graphics, there might be some confusion as to what lane leads to where.

    For those who are used to time management games where the pace is almost always fast and the objectives are clear-cut, I advise you to skip this game.

    But for those who want a bit of variety and enjoy long, drawn-out playing, Mr. Smoozles Goes Nutso is for you!
