It's alright

It's a good game to have, but unless you really like a match two game, not really worth buying the full version. The Quest mode ended rather fast, although the change in the tile pattern did get a bit challenging at first. The classic mode is alright. Sadly you have no way to save and exit the game you are playing so the next time you will have to do the level all over again. And that is why the endless mode become a let-down. The backgrounds are nice but the music do get a little annoying after some time.

Just lovely

Usually I don't go for Mahjong games but this one caught my eye with its beautiful tile sets. The story mode was a bit short though, the only downside I have discovered. Otherwise very relaxing and again, I just love the tiles!

A very good Mahjongg game

Mahjongg is quite an old board game (in fact, the original version is probably 2500+ years), and computer-based solitaire variants have a long history as well. Yet, Mahjongg Artifacts has some things that make it a good clone.
This game has three modes to play. The first you can try is Quest mode; in this, you follow the story of an archaeologist in his search of the Great Artifact. Ever more complex layouts come in sequence, as you progress through 5 ancient worlds.
The second one is Classic mode. In this, you can play any of 99 layouts, with a tile set of your choosing (out of the ones you've unlocked in the Quest, that is), on a background, which you can select as well. That's the classic Mahjongg Solitaire, with one opportunity to shuffle.
The third one is an interesting addition; it's called Endless Mode, and it lives up to the name: when you completely clear one layer of the square-shaped layout, a new one is added to the bottom.
One of the strong points of this game is that it gives you "badges" after finishing a quest level, based on your performance; for example, you get the "Clever" badge if you don't use Hint during the level.
Another plus is the collection of acquirable artifacts: beside the ones collected during the quest, there are numerous ones which reward your good performance (for having 9 Clever levels in a row, for 1000 cleared tiles, etc.)
Additionally, it has nice graphics and a good (albeit repetitive) soundtrack.
However, this game has its (minor) shortcomings as well; for example, I found the story to be short and hollow, and it would be great to be able to play the Endless mode with other tile sets than the original.
All in all, I think this is a very nice Mahjongg clone, and I advise every tile-matching fan to give it a try. Mahjongg Artifacts is worth it.
