Match - 3 Remade In A Very Good Way

Yeah, I actually downloaded this game coz I love match-3 type of games, so I thought that I should give this game a try too. When I started playing, I thought "It is same old match-3, just designed with bottles instead of other stuff that u see." Well, seconds later I realized that it was not so.

Though the match-3 remains the same, here there are two twists. Instead of breaking boxes behind the pieces or locks with chains n stuff, u just get the chests unlocked by swapping them with an adjacent key. This was an original twist.

Now the second twist is a twist itself. U can actually twist n turn ur board around. This gives u various opportunities to get to ur goal faster n in an easier way. Another original I must say.

An added advantage were the powerups that could be bought with the stars that u collect. Each powerup costs a certain number of stars, and u can buy them if u have enough. This aint a new concept, but the powerups are an alright thing. The powerups get charged when u make the match-3 or more.

If u manage to match 4 then u get a single row or column destroyer. If u manage to match 5 or more u get a row+column destroyer. This comes in very handy.

Graphics 3/5
I wont say the graphics are too much. They could have been better. Even at a high resolution, the game didn't look that good. That was a serious letdown for me.

Sound 5/5
I absolutely loved the sounds in the game. Fast n somewhat oriental in its style, it nevertheless suits the game. I keep humming the tune now, after three hours of play, lol.

Gameplay 5/5
I loved the two original twists to the game. So my rating for gameplay is full.

Overall 4/5
If u can tolerate the bad grahics, then I guess, this game is meant for all match-3 lovers. The original gameplay makes it a good reason to buy the game. Play it once, n I bet u'll fall fo it.

Magic Molasses

To The Point
It's like match three broccoli. Probably not your first choice of vegetables, but if you're really hungry you'll probably eat it.

Overview
A stereotypical match three game. Its "novelty" is that you may turn the board to achieve new matches, though others have done this in the past. Is it enough to make the game unique and interesting? Likely not.

Gameplay
Commonplace match three kindof action. Twisting the board doesn't really add much more excitement. If anything, it just adds burden. Not a great deal of fireworks on this title and the powerups are mundane, even for this genre.

Graphics
They try. Well, at least the backgrounds try. The bottles and the effects around the bottles are B-movie quality. There's nothing here that you're going to show off to your friends.

Sound
They fail. The sound is muddy and lacks character or depth. If you are prone to muting a game's sound, then you probably should just start off muted and save the bother.

Replay
They try. It's a match three and you could replay it over and over if you want. Two game modes offer a bit of variety. But there's little here to urge you on. I suspect not many folks are going to stay up late for this one.

Editorial
They fail. Twenty dollars for a sub-par match three is a stretch. You're not going to find anything new or anything much improved over other match threes. Shaky graphics, poor sound, and just an uninspired story just make for a bland experience. Good if you like bland games. I'm sure you're out there...

Not very impressive

A swap match game with considerable graphics and audios. There is a revolutionary change made in this matching game, and plenty of spells to assist you.

I found 2 things I appreciate in this game. Firstly, the revolutionary Rotatary gameboard allows powerful strategies to be used and minimize the chance to have no moves left. If you use your brain, you can open trunks easily with the help of rotation.

Another thing I like is the upgradable spells. Yeah! UPGRADES! I love permanent upgrades during game which allows strategies to take place and add replay value.

Dislikes? There is one thing I dislike, however. There is no story or plots. I don't understand why I am matching potions, and why I am creating flowers or butterflies. These should be explained at the beginning of the game! The programmers or designers certainly don't know how to entertain players with amazing plots.

A pros and cons balanced matching game. Recommended for most players who doesn't hate puzzles, lol.
