The tale of what could have been....

First let me start by saying: this is my first written review. I just felt so strongly that I needed and explanation as to why the game was not complete.
Let me explain...
It truly is a crossbreed between Plant Tycoon, Alice Greenfingers, and Garden Dreams. I have played all 3 games (ALOT), and I can say that I was very excited about the aspects that this game had taken from them. However, that being said, I do feel that simply having aspects like the breeding chart, doesn't compensate for the lack of detail and/or logical since of breeding that say Plant Tycoon had.
I like that they added the house building aspect, however that too was lacking since there aren't any choices associated with it; it just simply costs money to build, and you get a medal and some money when you complete it, BUT I only got to 30% done, and it already costs me about $5000 to get to the next level of build. Apparently NOW is when I need the money, not after the build is complete. I would have liked a little more effort on the game's creator's end, when building the house. For instance, even just 3 choices of paint color, or 3 styles of house to choose from would have made it more interesting and interactive, especially for the price of the upgrades!
As for the pests... Basically I would have to agree that they are more of an annoyance than a positive addition to the game even if their waste is worth $50! The crows aren't so bad because you get to shoot at them, but the mice are too much. Maybe they wouldn't have been so bad if there was something you could buy to cut down on them, sortof like the scarecrows do for the crows.
To sum it all up, I think they had a GREAT idea to combine all the best aspects of 3 great games, but fell short in alot of ways. If they had elaborated on the aspects they had chosen, they would have made one heck of a game!
I just don't see the long term gameplay in this one, unlike the 3 games mentioned in the beginning.

Interesting at first....

This game is interesting when you first started playing it. Unlike Fish Tycoon & Plant Tycoon, there isn't any magic seeds or plants that you can find in this game. I am able to complete the whole plant crossing chart during the trial version and after you get all the plants available, the game starts to get boring and repetitive.

Upgrades aren't fantastic or attractive enough to keep my attention to the game. Won't buy this game.

Good but need improving!

Hmm this is another tricky one, it's along the lines of Alice Greenfingers and Plant Tycoon and fun to play in the same way. None of which however are a touch on the fabulous Plantasia which is still one of my most played games.
This is a very very basic game, and that becomes apparent after about 5 mins. You can cross the plants to make new ones but that's about all you can do, and you can fill the chart in very quickly whereupon you wonder what else you can do.
There's mice and crows to scare off, but for me this just adds an incessant annoyance rather than adding anything,
All this said, I did enjoy playing it for an hour, I just hoped for something a little bit more.

I think these kind of games have gotten to the stage where designers need to add in little touches like being able to build a garden with all kinds of things, lay things out as you like (which you can kind of do here), deal with pests, and have to really work to cross breed magic/special plants that'll give you a big bonus. Extra purchases which do special things also add so much. This game has a lot of those things but in such a basic and easily achievable form it isn't as fun as it could be. You're stuck with only one 'stage' so to speak as well, it seems, which is a little odd. Levels are good, we like change! lol

Verdict: Not worth the money IMHO but fun nonetheless if you're stuck for something. My advice, go and locate PLANTASIA, it's the best game of this type by far!

Do the math! When it comes to the plants of the day find the one that gives you the biggest profit rather than the highest sell price. A plant which gives you 170 in sales can cost 150 to produce giving you a meager 20 dollar profit, while the plant giving you only 150 in sales can cost 40 to produce giving you 110 dollars profit. It's all about the "cheapest" seed combination you need to use.
