Better than Amun Rising, and at least as good as Luxor 3

Let's start with a caveat: I love non-linear game play. I love when you can go on side trips and explore a game, picking up little tidbits along the way. Nothing makes a game more tedious for me than going point A to point B with nothing of my choosing in between.

Quest for the Afterlife has the things we loved in Luxor 3 (increasing the power of your powerups, the interesting facts mixed into the game), but it takes the concept in a wonderful direction. Now, you have the map in front of you, you know what you MUST do, but you also have the ability to go to other cities, get other artifacts, increase your score in different ways, and still keep playing even after the original quest is over.

To those people who think there is no guidance, that is maybe part of the point. Your choices matter, what you need to do vs what you want to do are all important.

What I liked:
Battle Mode! Head to head play....do I see a potential online sequel where you can play head-to-head? *hint to Mumbo Jumbo and Reflexive*

The non-linear game play. I cannot say how nice it was to take a game the way I wanted, not following a single path.

Do not skip this game. Its at least as good as Luxor 3, and the ability to play on your own terms makes it so amazing to play.

A downturn for the Luxor Game Series

The New installment of Luxor is finally here. With the rock graphics and great music from ther last installment, I was expecting a great game when I play the game. I was a little bit dispointed by the game Play.
First of all, the graphics is still, rock the house with stunning special effect, great music and excellent game play same as usual. Undoubtablely, this make good points about buying this game. I also like the non-Linear game play, because it extend the freedom of player playing the game.
The system, is a step up to the previous game, which introduce the Battle mode. For my personal opinion, I think this is the best mode in the Whole Game. The Difficulty of the game had been increased by a bit, so upgrade the right item is ESSENTIAL for finishing the Full game. The game is also try to provide audio this time, and I think this is a good ATTEMPT to be so innovative about ideas.

HOWEVER,I dislike the so-call JAR thing. It is quite annoying that you are require to trap somebody on a city by travelling backward and upward. The System is also quite confusing, and it will certainly makes the players confused about the direction and disappointed. For some odd reason, I just dislike the sound of Nefertiti, and I think that the team had Over-doing the game. The Original game is already good enough for people to THINK about their situation and IMAGINATE, while the game now is actually TELL you your situation; I won't say that's Bad, I Just like the original one.

Luxor's Series is always keep's getting better, But I am afraid after playing this one, I feel the downturn of the quality of the game. I won't say this is a bad game, as I can see the hardwork made by the MumboJumbo team; But I would suggested you to try Luxor 3 or Luxor 2, because they are simply better.

an idea on battle mode (if anyone knows that i have windows ME i have played this game with the computer to a friend) the idea that i got is to use an powerup in battle mode for another scarab if you almost has get the thing into the pyramid also if you not add balls that not make a match you make the line longer.

My Girlfriend had a hard time with this game so I went to her house and this is what I did. When she had reached the map area of the game she could not go to any city there. Even the one’s that was unlocked and open. So we uninstalled the game then went to her programs files and deleted the folder. Then we emptied the recycle bin. Then we did a system reboot.

After we loaded back up we downloaded the game again. Which took almost 10 minutes on DSL, why? I have no clue. After the install we loaded the game up. We went to make a new profile and there was a named profile already on the game! Yes a weird name we could not pronounce. So we deleted that. You must start with a new named profile if this is happening to you. It did not happen to me when I got the game. But I do believe this is why her demo was messing up. She was playing under this “default “or “dummy” profile.

Alright then we just played the game as usual until we opened the sandisk. When it was unlocked and we had to use it to block the “ grave robber “ we clicked on the disk then placed it as close to him as possible. Then we clicked on the artifact peaces we collected to find were the other parts were going to be. Little floating symbols will be twirling over the question marks on the map. And the only cities you can reach are highlighted in Orange and have what look like bubbles or sparkling dust over them. Sometimes you will have to repeat cities to stop him from going any further or to just earn another peace of artifact that you may not have gotten during the first time.

You should also upgrade your Scorpion power up in the game store. When you do this the Scorpion will eat up or destroy more balls keeping you from dieing. This game is progressively harder so upgrading your bonuses really makes a difference and basically save you.
