Luxor 3

Great game. Graphics a little shaky but very attractive. Game control better if you lower the details.

Luxor 3 - Third time's the charm!

Hi fellow Reflexive addicts, I haven't played a demo for months which has made me feel like writing a review- but this game can't go unsung. Its fantastic.

I was expecting just a re-take on Luxor 1 & 2, but was I wrong!!.

The first thing that hit me was the graphics and sound- ever changing, beautifully executed backgrounds, with innovative puzzle layouts and sphere paths, plus dramatic firework explosions on level completion, just right for Bonfire season!!

Then, Scarabs and jars to collect which add up to open bonus levels- but you need to be quick with swift strategic shooting to clear a path to these and release the bonus points and treasures they contain, before they slowly disappear.Spheres also become smaller in the distant labyrinth of sphere paths, so you need to be quick on the draw, aim well and swap colours of spheres rapidly to succeed.

The game play in each level is interspersed with puzzle levels, which require thought and strategy, classic play and timed onslaught levels where you must survive until the timer runs out .I especially liked the others levels where you must destroy statues which cause the spheres to reach the end faster, but as soon as you destroy one another reappears- its a challenge to keep your eye on the spheres and not be distracted. Throughout play the atmospheric music and sound effects keep up the tension and pace and add to the drama.

As you complete the levels you build another layer of the pyramid- then back to the fun.Visit the store and buy enhanced sphere sets and powerup!

With three levels of skill play easy- medium and hard there's plenty of room to keep the challenge going. I played the demo in medium skill- this was a challenge for me and I tried hard which was insane- but maybe some of you match three wizards will be up to this. So go give it a whirl today- I’ll keep an eye on the reviews, if you don’t just love this game I’ll even write a review to hold up my hands and admitt I was wrong

Tips & Tricks for 'Luxor 3':

I strong recommend you to upgrade the Damage Power Ups first. Damage Power Ups are Fireball, Lightning Bolt and Pyrimid Blocker. These can destroy spheres and are most effective at the beginning.

Then you can upgrade the Timers. The Timers are Slow, Stop and Reverse. Reverse is the best, Stop is weaker and Slow is the weakest. But all of them help to slow down (or stop)the spheres and buy you more time, which is more effective than the Damagers when there are lots of spheres.

Lastly, Net and Match Highlighter should be upgraded last since they have no effect on surviving a level.

For puzzle 1-37 (the one with the goddess Nut or whomever it is that appears on the sky that appears in adventure mode too) that drove me nuts remember the following:

Powerups: If you start with Easy and complete it, when you go on to Normal you get to keep all the enhanced powerups you have. Similarly when you then go on to Hard, (as the same player), you keep the whole powerup collection and should be able to get most of them to max power.

requirement to get difficult treasure collection :
causal achievement - clear chain for 5 combo in role(in one shot)
sharp shooter achievement - get 100% accuracy in one level
so you should try this in free play mode-->easy mode in level 1

Based on 1 rating, average score is 3.0.
