Wheyehy heeey, what a corker; or, This is the best Space Shooter since R-Type

This is probably the best arcade space shooter out there except its own upgrade, Jets'n'Guns Gold; and is one of my most favourite of games, although ‘virtually’ all the games of this genre are cool, this one is way cool. It has exceptional game play and great graphics despite having the most antiquated of screen resolutions, and stands so much more above others of this genre.

From the start you are pelted with missiles and projectiles from an awesome number of enemies; some quirky and others such as the space suited figures that jump ship just before your weaponry blasts it to smithereens, hilarious. This game has it all.

All the features of this game add something that most shooters of this genre can only aspire to. There are no endless streams of the same style of ship, but an impressive array of different ships, bases and gun emplacements

For a few dollars more you are able to upgrade to the Gold version, which adds more levels and lots more enemy ships as well as an upgrade in resolution to 800 x 600; which although still in the stone age of computing, kicks some serious butt none the less.

The usual shop upgrades are accessible right from the start, and the ability to collect awesome amounts of money throughout the game, either by blasting ships and men or by picking up the generous amount of gold that can be found floating in space; so that after surviving one of the many rounds you can upgrade easily with some fantastic weaponry and defensive shields in readiness for the later levels which are much harder; but not exceptionally so.

If you're not a big fan of space shooters, this is still one you should have in your library; if only to sate the appetites of visitors whom you may allow access to when they visit. I'm sure any gamer finding this on a friend’s computer would thing 'cool dude', lol. I do hope we seem more level packs in the future or even an editor, which would be a first in this genre I believe.

Best Shooter game I have ever played!

I consider myself an experienced gamer. Im 34 years old and have been playing since I was 5 years old back to the Atari and Comodore64 days :-)

Anyway this game is incredible! I love it so much. I made me so happy I can not even express myself in this review.

This is the best game on this website!!

music's nice

the graphics are simple, but effective.

The gameplay is about the best I've seen in a long while.

Overall, well worth my money.

Nice Mix of Action and Money Management

This game has a amazing shopping function after every level you beat. Yes, it is common that in shooter games you get to upgrade your ship somehow. But in this game this feature is like literally 20 times better than in other games. The numerous combinations of weapons and at least a dozen of other super-cool gadgets allow all kinds of shooter fans to tune their ship to their preference.

Being able to equip multiple weapons is cool, but this game builds on this and allow you to CHOOSE WHERE TO PLACE YOUR WEAPONS as well! And there are really TONS AND TONS OF DIFFERENT KINDS OF WEAPONS for you to choose from. Then you can upgrade everything from your plane's engine to its wing geometry, to internal cooling systems. Boss detectors, hecking devices, orbiting shields, anti-gravity systems, jet packs...THIS GAME'S GOT THEM ALL! And what's even better, many of these weapons and gadgets has MULTIPLE POWER LEVEL THAT YOU CAN UPGRADE, multiplying the gameplay variety by a factor of...a big number.

Okay, enough praising for the shopping mode. The real gameplay is pretty good. Unfortunately some levels are FRUSTRATINGLY DIFFICULT for inexperienced shooter fans. Then again, if you fail, you can always re-construct your ship and change all kinds of stuff and try again with new combination of weapons and parts. A remarkable cool feature is that during the game you can pick up locked crates that you can heck open (if you have the hecking gadget) for addtional items. Warning: elementry logic required. There are a lot more cool stuffs in the game (trust me), but saying them all will make this an essay.

Gameplay's excellent. Graphic and sound are of acceptable/high standard. Warning again: this game is more difficult than other shooter games out there.

And also, there's a really sick level that just really freaked me out...I mean, giant bugs crawling (floating!?)in space? Ewwwwwww!! *Shiver*

Blood involved. You can turn it off though.

Uh-OH

One of the guys said that this is the, "most worthy games on this site." I couldn't agree MORE!!! This game is simply magnificent! If you think that 74MB size is little big, and if you think that the 19.9$ is a little expensive for a game... THINK AGAIN!! This game is great. It is probably the best game I have ever played in this site.

The sound is great. The graphics, no one can complain about that. And the gameplay is overwhelming. Overall this game is well worth every buck you will spend in it.
