Great game!

I downloaded this game mostly for the size (fairly short download time on dial-up).

Its a match 3+ game that offers a little more than just matching 3 pieces. You are a wanderer that is helping Zeus recover a stolen relic. You need to clear gold backed tiles and sometimes clear all the jewels from the screen too. Zeus helps you, along with heroes that you unlock as you progress through the game. After each hero there is a mini game where you need to swap tiles to recreate an image, and this image is then available as wallpaper for your desktop. There is also a mini biography for each hero, which I found interesting. There are three levels of play, easy, med and hard, and its a timed game.

I liked this game for the wallpaper innovation. The game runs fast and smooth. The moving backgrounds are simply amazing (especially the sunset!) you have to see it to believe it! The bonuses help a great deal, and some, if you hit them all at once are rather neat and fun to see. There is also a trophy room. The sound effects are good, the music does get repetitive but its bearable.

This is a good game, and I'm considering getting the full version, just to meet the other heroes.

All in all, a worthy download. Try it, you may just like it!

MAGICAL MATCHING AND MUCH MORE!

A mythological string-3 goes above the call of good gameplay to provide you with bonus elements at almost every turn. Heroes of Hellas is perhaps one of Alawar's finest titles.

If you liked Azkend, then Heroes of Hellas will provide you with a slightly deeper experience with more lightning than explosives, and more substance than blind play.

It's everything a game should be, and perhaps a little bit more, providing you with Greek Mythology lessons resembling Talismania and dramatic paintings that are unlocked in a slowly timed mini-tile swapping game. Hellas doesn't stop there, and lets you set the artwork as your wallpaper designed tastefully with the game's logo. There's also your standard trophy room for minor and major gameplay accomplishments.

Hellas also includes a large customizable temple for which you can choose choose your own style of upgrade like in many other games. This is achieved through consistent collection of coins that are place on the board via stringing 4 or more colors with no limit per level. This greatly increases the gameplay value and lets you forget the clock in favor of excellence and pacing.

It's the little things. Like being able to slip in one last combo after the timer, and the way your mouse corners perfectly to build the combos you intended to. Only the full-version will truely tell, but Heroes of Hellas is a definite 5-star entry on Reflexive Arcade.

Adictive match 3

I did play the demo of this game and i liked it very much. You have to help zeus by retreving a artefact. You are doing so by making chains of 3 or more items of the same type on gold tiles and by relessing all the gems of the feild. It's like a mix between magic match and atlantis quest. After each level you have a mini-game (you can skip it ) where you have to reconstructs a image of a hero. After that this hero will help you in your quest.

The graphics is good and the effects are smooth and nice.

The music is a bit repetitive but not boring.

The gameplay is easy to learn and addictive.

I will gladely buy the full version to learn about all the 9 heros of this game.
