The Madness Never Ends!

I've always liked this game... played it on RealArcade for a long time... about 2 years. Now it's on here and it's better with the "Hamster Fight" as I call it, because it's a reminisce of Monkey Fight on Super Monkey Ball, and the arenas are nice; every race you went through has a certain element in its arena, i.e. Sky Arena has the pegs that are random, while the Odd Arena makes you fight horizontally and vertically.

This game is the best with a joystick (and I have a PS2-to-USB adapter, so it works great with the analog sticks).

The multiplayer modes are the best since you can fight to see who can come in first.

Master Race is hard enough because of Mobius-type strips (like the sides of DNA; twisting AND turning at the same time)... I managed to beat it however.

Replayibility is high, especially for the youth, the ones who do play the Super Monkey Ball series, and the adults who remember playing... Marble Madness!!! :)

Best Arcade and Strategy game ever!

Hamsterball is pretty hard for such a cute game. The graphics aren't that bad either, except that on most computers people will notice black things under the hamsterball, and on some of the words, letters and titles, which can be disturbing; the SFX is not too good, sometimes too late, or sometimes can't cooperate with the speed of all the action, but the music is excellent, each music goes well with the track. And the pictures, of the ranks are neat and well illustrative to their names, and those pictures of the Hamster, when you win or at the beginning, are very cute.

I think the reason why this game was called 2004's Downloadable Game of the Year, is because of its gameplay, very fun, but challenging, you need alot of control and practice to win this game, and the physics are just so real, you can almost see them working, especially in the Wobbly race, it requires alot of skill and patience, and it can get frustrating for gamers who are in everything for winning.

Safe, fun, and non-violent, I think this game is recommended for the whole family, except for those who get frustrated and give up easily :P.

  • Switch between the keyboard and mouse when alot of control is required and vice versa when more power is needed, especially in the Wobbly Race.

  • In the Toob race, right at the beginning, don't go into a tube, instead head for the middle of the tube which is on your left, this requires accuracy and practice, by hitting the tube from the top the ball will get dizzy and even when you fall down to the moving platform you won't get hurt.

  • In the Wobbly Race, after the 'tripping' platforms, it is impossible to overcome the very steep platform, the only way to advance in the race, is to make yourself fall on purpose, you will be automatically restarted ahead of that part.

  • It is possible to beat Weasel's time in Time Trial mode, try to cut corners (at a moderate height which will make your ball dizzy) of some parts of the tracks and try to aim for the time bonuses.

  • Follow the arrows and flags if you need directions in the Odd Race.

  • To win the Sky Race, you have to have at least 15 seconds in your Time Pool.

  • In the Neon Race, at the part of the dark track with only directional lights on the sides, try to learn the path, so that if it turns off, you'll still know where to go.
