Learn to beat 'em at their own game!

In this Texas Hold 'Em game, the goal is to buy every building in each city with your winnings until you've bought-up the whole state and become Govenor. Of course, after doing all that, you have to beat the current Govenor in a one on one match! That's a nailbiter for sure! After you've won a city, you also need to play the best card player in town to win transportation to the next city...you can't just walk there! Those one on one battles are a challenge too. You can select at the beginning your skill level, from "novice" to "expert". I played on novice, and it still took a long time to win the whole state. The characters make the game, you will learn over time who the "bluffers" are and the ones who really do have good hands are. The animations of the characters and their "wise remarks" during the game make it that much more enjoyable ("Gimme the chips!"). Some of the old ladies really know how to rile a guy and run-up the pot with their pure bluffs! The game's worth the money, and I found it to be even more fun than the Superstars of Poker. These animated players are much more fun and funny. Oh, and it will really be a tough game if you choose to be "expert", as they will stay in the game and won't constantly run themselves out. Great card game that's alot of fun to play. Also, there are cash games to be played in every city besides the standard tournaments, which allow you to pick up some extra much-needed cash--if you can win!

Nice game for people who know poker...

I don't know how to play poker and I wasn't able to pass even the first levels... Lacks a tutorial phase. Anyway after a lot of researching from internet I was able to get a grasp of the poker and was able to win a few games at lowest difficulty. Still wasn't able to pass the first level. Anyway I liked it and I'm still trying to beat it!
For graphics I'd give 3/5 because they are low quality on screen resolutions like 1280*1024 or higher.
I'll also give 3/5 for sounds because some sound are really low and some are high (bad recording) and its impossible to find a sound level where you can hear all the sounds and not get irritated by those which are high...
Gameplay deserves a 4 out of 5 I think... Well this one is a bit of a personal rating given so just try it out to find your rating for gameplay...
Overall its a good game and even thou I gave graphics and sound 3/5 I'll give this 4/5 for the sake of gameplay and good application of the idea.
P.S. I didn't really buy this one but my cousin did. I'm playing it there right now ^_^

Needs some work

I feel myself, that I am rather well versed in poker, not just online but IRL, and this game has me baffled.

first. the game is far from random, the cards are not left up to chance ( or if they are meant to be it needs tweaking) as it seems like 98% of the time the game will throw you a golden hand just to snatch it from you ( this is on easy mind you) that same percentage is the number of times you will have a pair of aces, or a nice high card flop, and the next NPC will have just 1 better than you.

another flaw is that there is no real bonus to having high cards, as more often than not you kick yourself for folding with your 3,6 or some other random pairing, as those are the ones that win the most times, but You are raised to the point that You dont want to risk it.

The game has excellent graphics, a nice concept, great sounds, the only drawback is the game play, easy is so hard t play that it really is more frustrating than fun.

Don't let me sway You though, download the demo, and remember this is one persons opinion,, your own opinion of the game is all that matters
