An accurate aquarium simulation

I have been an aquarium enthusiast since I was just a boy. My father was a salt-water hobbyist and I spent a lot of my free time in fish stores because of this. I felt the need to write this review because nobody has commented on just how real this game is. All of the fish you can purchase are actual fish, that you could find at the pet store. The breeds that will eat smaller species will in fact do that in real life. Fish will in fact eat as much as you give them, to the point where you can kill a fish from overfeeding. I haven't killed any fish yet, but the fact they seem always hungry is true to life. I would even go so far as to say that if you were looking to start an aquarium, this game is a good place to start to learn about maintenance and fish behaviors. This is a masterfully done representation of domesticated aquatic life, and anybody that likes fish would be doing themselves a disservice not to check it out.

Fast paced fishy fun

This is a Fish Tycoon for the inpatient gamer. It has the same relaxing fish theme but instead of waiting for things to gradually happen game play is more like Farm Frenzy once your second tank is introduced. Your fishes require constant maintenance and are incredibly hungry things, willing to eat their fellow fishy friends if you aren't careful. And getting the best price for your fishes means letting them grow up and keeping them happy.
Once you finish the first few levels you have a whole range of gameplay options from breeding to fish options and multiple tanks.
I enjoyed the graphics, the game play, the fish. The three different game options was a very nice addition I think more games should include. My only complaint was that the levels didn't allow you to continue from your old tank. You start with a new tank every round, like a fresh farm in Farm Frenzy it makes the game more challenging but I really like having my previous levels count for more. That's a personal quirk though and definitely not a reason to not try this game out if you like tycoon games or fish games.

FishCo

This is a relaxing and very fun game. It's also surprisingly challenging. Like many games it has it's dull moments (waiting for the fish to grow, you are just cleaning the tank and feeding over and over until they can sell). Basically you buy fish eggs for your pet shop aquarium and you take care of the fish until they are large enough to sell. You want to make the best possible profit on them so you have to keep their tanks clean and keep them well fed and happy. Like real fish, these die, get sick and attack each other. You learn about the different types of fish. You learn which ones can be together and which ones can't. Some fish of the same species will attack each other and even eat their own young if they get too hungry.YOu have daily goals set that provide the actual challege. This include a set number of items to buy for your aquaium, or fish to breed and/or sell. The graphics are pretty good and it definitely has a realistic feel. This is definitely a game to try and it's one you can play over an over. It's relaxing.
