Take into consideration the purpose of this game.

I think the first thing before you try or even download this game is to ask yourself what does one expect of such a game; Fatal Hearts calls itself a puzzle game, but it is more of a visual novel than a game - though the player is required to be more interactive than usual when it comes to a visual novel.

The visual novel is exactly what it is: a visual novel. The characters speak their lines and act out their parts visually for the players and the players get to make their choices. Do you trust this person, what do you do? From these actions, the player is eventually led to fourteen different endings, showing us fourteen sides of the same story.

For me, Fatal Hearts was a wonderful play. The fourteen endings clearly illustrated the different backstories and characters and showed me to feel for them and made me want to understand more of them. The multiple routes allow for countless replays as each choice turns the story in another way and shows you what you what you might not have expected previously.

The art leaves more to be desired but the storyline is certainly well done and it makes me hope Reflexive will publish more visual novels like this.

Very good.

This game is meant to be played repeatedly, so it's possible to skip over dialog you've seen already as well as skip over puzzles you've solved... It even saves the significant event artwork in a gallery, so if you wanted to go back through a look at everything you've unlocked you can do that easily.

There are some rather unexpected things that occur in several of the storylines and each decision can lead to new events and puzzles... There's no way anyone can experience the full potential of this game from just a demo. :D

Fatal Hearts

Fatal Hearts is about a 15 year old girl (which is typical of Japanese anime stories) who you control the life of, by choosing different options and succeeding puzzles to lead her to one of 14 endings. The game is more story based but with an addition of puzzles, some of which are pretty hard and others that are way too easy.
The graphics I found very pleasant to look at, they are drawn by different artists but the images do blend in together really well. The emotions on the characters are also Japanese style anime that I found enjoyable.
Even though the characters don't speak the dialog, the animation tends to show how they feel about certain situations.
The music in the background is calm and relaxing, the sound effects are also nice to hear and bring in a good atmosphere to the game.
The gameplay is basically a click of the mouse however, if you get tired of clicking you can make the story continue by itself in the options. This I found handy to use.
All in all, I found Fatal Hearts a fresh experience here at Reflexive and hopefully more will follow. Games that have different endings interest me and so does Japanese anime ^-^. If you love story-based or puzzle games you may want to try out this.

Twilight fans will love it

This is a lot like a "choose your own adventure" story with mini games. Some are weird, some are a lot of fun, and others might drive you to look up a solution

The story itself is superb. A murder mystery, a mysterious man in your dreams, werewolves, vampires, love interests... it's a great combination!

I'd happily recommend trying it. You can't really go wrong with Fatal Hearts if you like a good story, especially with 14 replayable different versions in the same game based on your choices

14 Endings

At first the game is not so great, but when you play it again and see the other sides it gets a lot interesting!

You can choose many pathes, and none are good or evil, they have just different beliefs.

There are some boring puzzles, but you can just skip and focus on the game's story.

If you like Storyteller RPGs you will love this game!
