Different...

The best way I can describe Exocubes is an inverted Meteos mixed with Puzzle Bobble.

The game plays differently than most and has a weird theme of abstract expressionism mixed with cubes. The goal is to move cubes vertically in the columns to make 3 (or hopefully more) colors match in either a column or a row. Then, when those cubes are scanned they crash (thunderously!) to the bottom of the screen. Crash enough cubes and you move on.

There are some power-ups and a variety of challenges to keep the game feeling fresh, and though it was kinda fun in small doses, it felt tedious and difficult when played for more than 20 minutes. Certainly it is a different puzzle game than most, so if you like originality, or just want to see that blue cube head guy in motion, it might be worth at least checking out.
