You Discovered A Wordish Wordy Word Game Gamut

I like word games alot, they are probably my favorite type of game in the puzzle genre.

I noticed one of the other reviewers mentioned some degree of similarity between Dungeon Scroll Gold Edition and Bookworm adventures, so i thought I would give this game a try.

I am not sure what I expected exactly, I was thinking it would have power-ups and downs and a strategy that went beyond merely making words.

That is not what I found.

This game is very simple, and even though the timer gives the illusion of battle, there is really nothing going on here except the act of quickly creating as many words as you can from a set of randomly generated word tiles.

All that having been said, I really, truly, heartily enjoyed this game. It is true the battles are an illusion, but darnit, they are a good illusion, and they make the play more interesting.

The game has an almost retarded slapstick sense of humor "You found a Bloated Mucus Toad Tongue" or You found a Dwarfish Bearded Underwear Dwarf", that is quite enjoyable.

This game doesn;t have the kind of depth that bookworm adventures or some of the other word games on this site have, however, it is a good , solid, fun game that you will want to play again and again.

I beat the game well before the 60 minute trial ended, and I immediatley started again and played till my 60 minutes was up.

This will probably be my next purchase. It is short and to the point, but a lot of fun and unique enough to be played many times.

I give this one an A-. If you like word games don't let this game slip past you, it really is a very fun way to kill some time.

    RPG Word Game

With the release of Bookworm Adventures I couldn't help but think back to Dungeon Scroll. Dungeon Scroll was the first game to have players create words to fight against enemies and though it is certainly showing its age when you compare it against Bookworm Adventures, it is still a lot of fun to play.

I especially like the fact that you can use the keyboard in Dungeon Scroll to type in the letters instead of only being able to click on them (something I would have liked Bookworm Adventures to do). Once I found out I could quickly type my way to victory I enjoyed the game that much more.

This is a great game that is still quite a bit of good adventuring fun...even if it is feeling a little old when compared Bookworm Adventures.

    Well done

This game is somewhat similar to Bookworm Adventure and I think it is better. It is geared to an older audience - no "cute" characters, just straightforward gameplay.

The sound and music are a bit loud and have no volume controls, just ON/OFF. Other than that it is a nice job, very clean pleasant graphics.
