Worlds Away from what could have been done..

It's my belief that you should never go out of your way to bash a game, and I won't. I should state here, that the original was one of the few titles that I've actually purchased.

Clash N Slash 2 has taken a turn, and this turn seems to only be a stride to appeal to a[n even] younger audience by way of introducing two characters that can only be described as Buzz Lightyear and an grown up version of Dora exiting the hair salon.

The most notable change is the addition of Adventure mode, which will leave CNS1 players at a loss. In this mode, you do not get to choose which upgrades will be made to your planetary defense systems: Dora will do it for you. And with help from Buzz, you will distribute (not spend) points to tweak your ship and weapons systems in an RPG'ish manner. This would be great if there was actually a reward system to grant you higher points for your stellar performances, but in the 40 minutes of demo, I've been granted no more than 1 or 2 points per level. While there are some charming variations, such as a cartoony bonus level that looks like a kid's room, nothing's been pushed here either.

The game is no faster than the original, and turns out to be a yawner, since nothing is critical until it's kissing up to the planet -- and if something already made it there, chances are you're already overwhelmed.. but that doesn't happen in adventure mode, which I call "auto mode". CNS2 offers the same array of weapons as the original, leading me to believe that the only thing done was to draw new ships.

The good part, and I wish I had started my 60 minutes with this one, is Survival mode. Survival mode is perhaps what the original CNS should have been. This mode plays much more like an uninterrupted version of the original. In my book, the CNS franchise has left itself out in the open, and someone should really snag this and put a proper spin on it.

No candy, no money :(.

Another cool space shooter!

I really like to play Clash N Slash, but this new part: Clash N Slash Worlds Away is even better! This game has beautiful graphics, the sounds are great and I really like the gameplay. When you complete a level, you get one point. Use your earned points to upgrade your ship! I recommend this game to everyone who likes space shooters!

At boss levels, use the Pulse rifle (and upgrades later on) to make short work of the big fat UFO.

Which attribute to upgrade first? Spot the weakness of your weapon. For example, rapid gun is weak at accuracy, so upgrade recoil first if you are using it. Impulse gun only has a few shoots in a round, so upgrade clip size first.

This should help in choosing upgrades for your ship.

At boss levels, you should use the rocket launcher (even if upgraded). But before you use it, upgrade the reload, damage and clip size because the rocket launcher reloads slower, less ammo and small damage (for bosses). Also use this weapon when you are surrounded.
