Cave Days - Humor, Adventure, & Action in One

If you have a sense of humor, a longing for adventure, or just want to get in on some of the action, Cave Days is for you.

It does remind one of the old days when Super Mario Brothers was hot. It has some of the same aspects... tunnels, platforms, lava shooting up, breakaway platforms, vine climbing, and of course the water areas to name a few.

The cut scenes are humorous enough to watch and have a way of leading you into your goal for the levels ahead.

The music, albeit repetitive goes along with the genre. Some will turn it off, while people like me kept it on because it just "fits" with the game play. (And I like the caveman voices).

Graphics are a bit old style ... as with side-scrollers it is a 2 dimensional thing. If your computer has a tendency to lag, it will. My computer lagged a few times, but not enough to make me want to shut the game off.

The levels have goals, getting through and getting all the fruits are the main goals, but then they spice it up abit. Hunt and bring dinosaurs back to your cave (man cannot live on fruit alone ha ha). Find this or that for a character, Race another character, Help a elderly woman or a man with (well he's not blind so I'll just say) a vision impairment get somewhere safely, find Sneako (under rocks you can pick up), mark your territory (graffiti cave-man style), defeat a T-Rex, play as a sheep dino, or a runner dino trying to get through to the next area safely.

There is just so much about this game I love, and I haven't even mentioned the wind tunnels or the geysers or the non-man eating plants.... having to skillfully throw stones or dinos around ... I just had fun.

I don't play alot of this genre anymore, but it brought me back and considering this game was a gift from a friend, well it was long overdue.

Brings Back Great Memories of the Good Ol' Days

I don't care what anyone says about this game.... I LOVE IT. It brings back such great memories of the first few computer games I played such as Montezuma's Revenge and Lode Runner. I wish more computer game designers would continue creating games that remind us of pioneer computer games. Simple, yet addictive and fun. I don't need nor appreciate 3D fantastic graphics, complicated story lines and missions, or a million keys to control and navigate.
I say you can never go wrong with clean, simple, good fun.

I don't have anything bad to say about this game because I absolutely love these old school type platform games. Everything was perfect. The size of the character, the humor involved, the missions, the goals, the playability, the length of the game (although I would not complain if they extended the length of the game *wink*).

Excellent game. I will forever buy games like these. A+++++.

A new game with a old style.

Those great graphics you dont see much anymore. I love them, and if i see a game with it i just need to play it, no matter what. It's an little bit old style but a pleasure to look at. This maded the game pretty nice and kept me playing.

The sound was sometimes pretty anoying and really when you are jumping and slashing. After a few minutes i putted the sound out and i turned on the radio.

I love the gameplay! Every level you need to find a gem which you can get by collecting all the fruits, racing against one, finding a snake under a stone and much other things. Because of this it doesn't get boring fast but it can get pretty hard to complete everything.

There are a few things that are not so good on this game, but if you look at the good one's, it doesn't make much.
The character could be a little bit faster especially when climbing a rope. Also sometimes it was a little bit laggy, but maybe that is because my computer is not one of the newest anymore.

Overall the game is very nice, and if you are a mario or sonic fan this is for you. There is totaly no puzzling or other stuff you need to think by. Just slashing, doing tasks and hale that level!

Stones are not the only thing you can toss.
If you fall from high spaces, while carrying eggs (or flowers) these will get damaged, (some vanish after 2 damaging leaps).
Getting bitten underwater will use up air, so be careful.
Club bushes, lift all rocks, mark territory as you go, and grab all fruits too, it will save you steps later.

If you get stuck on a goal (regardless of the goal) finish what goals you can and then as soon as the goal you are stuck on is the "main" goal, arrows will point your way. Follow them.
