This is FUN!!!

This is a really fun game that differs from most of the match-3 games. It is a bit similar to Cradle of Persia but with a pirate theme and WOW what I had a good time playing this!

The sounds are hilarious but I didn't listen to the music, the story is filled with pirates talk and the graphics are..."piratey"!! Gameplay work just fine. A FUN match-3 game where you build your own eehm..."piratevillage" and the reputaion of your self to get more pirates to your village.

A really nice and FUN break from allday work!

Excellent matching/building game

I was pleasantly surprised by this game. I almost didn't download it because it looked like another typical match-3, but that screenshot of the island made me wonder. It turns out that it's actually quite unique.

First, it's not a normal match-3 mechanic. You actually pick up and drop pieces anywhere on the board, instead of the normal mechanic where you select 2 adjacent pieces and they swap.

You earn gold and reputation on each level that you use to buy buildings for your island, which is how you get powerups and bonuses. As you earn reputation and level up, more citizens come to your island and you have to keep them employed. It's sort of like Cradle of Rome but much more interesting and in depth.

I highly recommend it, even to those that are sick of match-3 games.

GRRREEEEEAAAAAATTTTT

After reading the reviews, I decide to try. WOOOOOWWW this game is FUN. Much more than the match-3 of ever and ever. You have to play it to believe it. Music and characters are very good too.

I have no such fun since SuperCow.

TASTE IT

Cradle of Monkey Island!

This is definitely Tropico meets Cradle of Rome and/or Cradle of Persia meets "Pirates of the Caribbean"!
Unlike most match-3s, there is no sliding here, your cursor "carries" a tile, and you swap it out with any on the screen, as long as it makes a match of 3 or more. This is very similar to Treasure Island, but better, in that it "serves a purpose": If the tile is a resource, you collect some of that resource. (If you can make a T-shape or cross-shaped match, it gives you a bonus of even MORE of that resource than just the tiles involved!)
You don't just match 3 and break boards, almost every Level has one or more SPECIAL goals, based on the storyline, which is adventurous and humorous at the same time!
Even better, when you're building your village, you have to use your "citizens" (OTHER PIRATES), who will, true to form, steal from you if not kept busy! So you have resource management AND personnel management, sort of. Also, unlike the Cradle series, the buildings take time to build--some even take more than one Level!
Each new building you make, will add you another powerup Most are automatic, but some you have to buy, even AFTER buying the building. The catch is, the more powerups you have, the more different types of tiles you'll have, which makes the game more complicated, if not necessarily harder!
The music is kind of bouncy (But it can get repetitive), and the graphics, both in-game and in the story, have a delightfully cartoony feel, sort of like Monkey Island, if anyone remembers that one? Even better, each type of tile has a different sound-effect! Gold clinks, cannons fire, pirates roar, swords clash, and even the powerups have special sounds when they are ready to be used!
The game is a great addition to any Click-3 addict's collection, especially if you liked Treasure Island and/or either Cradle game.
